Peter LeBlanc
Peter LeBlanc (born February 3, 1988) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who last played for the Essen Mosquitoes of the German Oberliga. He played a solitary game in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Washington Capitals. Playing career As a youth, Leblanc played in the 2002 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Hamilton, Ontario. Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks 186th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Leblanc was assigned to AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs. During the 2012–13 season, LeBlanc was traded by the Blackhawks to the Washington Capitals for future considerations in AHL contracted player Matt Beaudoin on January 31, 2013. In July 2013, LeBlanc was re-signed by the Capitals to a one-year, two-way contract. Peter LeBlanc (politician)
Peter David LeBlanc (born December 24, 1938) is a former chartered accountant and former political figure in New Brunswick, Canada. He represented Kennebecasis in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1995 to 1999 as a Liberal member. LeBlanc is now the owner and co-operator of a Christmas tree farm and apple orchard located in Quispamsis NB, Kennebecasis Apple Orchard. He was born December 24, 1938, in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Paul LeBlanc and Beatrice Mary MacDonald. In 1973, he married Carolyn Crowther. LeBlanc served as Minister of Supply and Services from 1997 to 1998. 2012–13 AHL Season
The 2012–13 AHL season was the 77th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 12, 2012 and ended on April 21, 2013. The 2013 Calder Cup playoffs followed the conclusion of the regular season. The Calder Cup was won by the Grand Rapids Griffins for their first Calder Cup in franchise history. Regular season On June 28, the Board of Governors approved a minor realignment for the league for the 2012–13 season. The only changes were made in the Western Conference, as three teams swapped divisions for this season: Abbotsford moves to the North Division, Grand Rapids moves to the Midwest Division and Charlotte moves to the newly renamed South Division (formerly West Division). Elite Ice Hockey League
The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Viaplay Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. Formed in 2003 following the demise of the Ice Hockey Superleague, it is the highest level of ice hockey competition in the United Kingdom. The league operate three competitions for members; the play-offs determine the national champion for the season, following a regular season league competition for which separate champions are also crowned, and which selects and seeds the teams in the play-offs. Manchester Monarchs (ECHL)
The Manchester Monarchs were a professional ice hockey team in the ECHL which began play in the 2015–16 season. Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, and affiliated with the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings, the team played its home games at the SNHU Arena. The Monarchs replaced the American Hockey League team of the same name, which played from 2001 until 2015, after which they moved to Ontario, California, and became the Ontario Reign. After four seasons in the ECHL, the Monarchs ceased operations when the organization failed to find new ownership. The ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League) is a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with teams scattered across the United States and Canada. It is a tier below the American Hockey League (AHL). The ECHL and the AHL are the only minor leagues recognized by the collective bargaining agreement between the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association, meaning any player signed to an entry-level NHL contract and designated for assignment must report to a club in either the ECHL or the AHL. The Cincinnati Cyclones are a professional ice hockey team based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The team is a member of the ECHL. Originally established in 1990, the team first played their games in the Cincinnati Gardens and now play at Heritage Bank Center. The Cyclones are a minor league affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres (National Hockey League) and the Rochester Americans (American Hockey League). The SM-liiga (marketed as just Liiga from 2013 on), (Finnish for ''League'') colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. It is one of the six founding leagues of the Champions Hockey League and currently allocated five spots - the maximum number - based on success in previous editions. It was created in 1975 to replace the SM-sarja, which was fundamentally an amateur league. 2014–15 HockeyAllsvenskan Season
The 2014–15 HockeyAllsvenskan season was the tenth season of the second tier of ice hockey in Sweden under that name. The league featured 14 teams, including Stockholm-based AIK, who were relegated from the SHL following four seasons in the top league. Also joining HockeyAllsvenskan was HC Vita Hästen, which marked the return of elite-level hockey to Norrköping. A previous Vita Hästen club had played in Sweden's second-tier league until the 1995–96 season, but following that club's bankruptcy in 1996, the new Vita Hästen club rebuilt from the bottom of the league system, culminating in their promotion back to the second tier in the 2014 HockeyAllsvenskan qualifiers.
