Peter Green (musician)
Peter Allen Greenbaum (29 October 194625 July 2020), known professionally as Peter Green, was an English blues rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. As the founder of Fleetwood Mac, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Green founded Fleetwood Mac in 1967 after a stint in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and quickly established the new band as a popular live act in addition to a successful recording act, before departing in 1970. Green's songs, such as " Albatross", "Black Magic Woman", " Oh Well", "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)" and " Man of the World", appeared on singles charts, and several have been adapted by a variety of musicians. Green was a major figure in the "second great epoch" of the British blues movement. Eric Clapton praised his guitar playing, and B.B. Peter Henry Rae Green (born 30 January 1947) is an Australian-born gastroenterologist and Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director of the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University, New York City. He is notable for his expertise is celiac disease and his research includes epidemiology, clinical manifestations, associated diseases and the pathophysiological mechanisms of the syndrome. Green has an active research collaboration with the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Early life Green was born in Sydney and attended Newington College (1959–1964) commencing in the preparatory school at Killara. At the University of Sydney he graduated as a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with First Class Honours in 1971. During his medical studies, Green played with the Newington Old Boys Rugby Club as a member of a Kentwell Cup winning team and was a surf lifesaver with Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club. Peter Greene (Mayor) (October 1895 – 21 December 1963) was Mayor of Galway from 1954 to 1960. Greene was born at the family home at the Fishmarket Pub, Spanish Arch. His father was Coleman Greene of Carna and his mother was Julia McGrath from Newcastle. He was a member of the Old Irish Republican Army from 1917 to 1926, when he joined Fianna Fáil. The following year he married and subsequently fathered three children. He represented the East Ward on the Urban Council from 1934. As Mayor, he opened the first Galway Oyster Festival in September 1954. He was also Mayor during the KLM Flight 607-E disaster in August 1958, of which there were no survivors. Only thirty-four bodies were recovered. Peter Greene (born Peter Green; October 8, 1965) is an American actor. A character actor, he is generally known for portraying villains. He is best known for the roles in the 1994 films ''The Mask'', where he plays the films antagonist, Dorian Tyrell, and ''Pulp Fiction'', in which he portrayed Zed, a sadistic security guard, rapist, and serial killer who serves as an antagonist in the film. Early life A native of Montclair, New Jersey, Greene did not pursue a career in acting until his mid-20s. He initially landed several roles in cinema and television in the early 1990s. Peter Green (1916 - 1980), when he was forty years old, started his furniture business in Eastleigh with his wife Norah and child in arms, in 1956 in a small shop at 43 Leigh Road. He may have had only £150 capital,Adlib Quarterly, No. 22 - November 1983 but he had years of experience as a sales representative in the furniture trade. Green had been in the business all his working life apart from a period spent flying during the war. His family had been in the furniture trade for generations, his grandfather having dealt in antique furniture a century earlier. Green had grown up in Nuneaton; he was proud to be an Old Edwardian having attended King Edward’s Grammar School in Nuneaton. Peter Shaw Green (11 September 1920–17 August 2009) was an English botanist. Early life Green was born in Rochester, Kent, the youngest son of John and Elizabeth (née Hainsworth) Green, his father a civilian engineer with the Royal Air Force. He was educated at Taunton School, before studying botany at King's College London. His studies were interrupted by the Second World War, in which he served as an Adjutant (Captain) in the Northumberland Fusiliers, initially training recruits to shoot, but later joining his regiment in Italy, where he contracted typhoid. Upon recovery, he was despatched to Greece. In 1946, while still in uniform, he married Winifred Brown, whom he had met at King's College before the war. After demobilization, he returned to his studies at King's College. The song was written by Boone and Rod McQueen and sold over 2,000,000 copies worldwide. Peter Green or Greene (March 13, 1868 – September 22, 1934) was a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and trainer with the Ottawa Hockey Club/Ottawa Senators. Green won ten Stanley Cup titles in his time with Ottawa, four as a trainer, and six as a coach. Green also was a trainer with the Ottawa Football Club and in lacrosse. Career Peter Green began his athletic career with the Ottawa Capitals field lacrosse team as a player in 1890. He would later become their trainer and coach. He coached the Ottawa Rough Riders football team from 1900 to 1903, during which they won two Canadian championships. In 1905, Green was hired by the Ottawa Hockey Club or "Silver Seven" as a trainer. In 1908, he was promoted to head coach to replace Alf Smith, who left to join the Kenora Thistles.
