People's Party (Cuba)
The People's Party ( es, Partido Popular) was a short-lived political party in Cuba. It was founded on November 7, 1900 by Diego Vicente Tejera (who had formed the Cuban Socialist Party the preceding year). The People's Party sought to mobilize the working class of Cuba into political action. However the party failed to make any significant political breakthrough. Tejera took part in the Constituent Convention of 1901 as a delegate from the People's Party.Rojas Blanquier, Angelina. The People's Labour Party ( es, Partido Popular Obrero) was a short-lived political party in Cuba. It appeared in public with its programme in August 1901. The party was a continuation of the People's Party of Diego Vicente Tejera. However, it appears that Diego Vicente Tejera had no links to the People's Labour Party. The Socialist Workers Party ( es, Partido Obrero Socialista, POS), initially known as the Workers Party of Cuba ( es, Partido Obrero de Cuba), was a political party in Cuba. The party published ''La Voz Obrera''. It was founded by a group of workers in Havana in 1904. In the party was joined by Carlos Baliños, who had formed the Socialist Propaganda Club 1903. Baliños became the leading figure of the party, and the name was changed to POS. The party also adopted a socialist programme.
