''Pelli Choopulu'' () is a 1983 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film directed by Parvataneni Sambasiva Rao. A remake of K. Bhagyaraj's Tamil film '' Thooral Ninnu Pochchu'' (1982), it stars Chandramohan and Vijayashanti. The film was released on 1 January 1983 and became a success. ''Thooral Ninnu Pochu'' () is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written, directed by and starring K. Bhagyaraj. The film also stars Sulakshana and M. N. Nambiar. The music and background score were composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was remade in Telugu as ''Pelli Choopulu'' (1983), in Hindi as '' Mohabbat'' (1985), and in Kannada as ''Gowri Kalyana'' (1991). Chandra Mohan (born Mallampalli Chandrasekhara Rao; 23 May 1944) is an Indian actor known for his works predominantly in Telugu films. He has garnered one Filmfare Award South and two Nandi Awards.
