PeaceJam Ghana
PeaceJam Ghana is an annual Youth Leadership Conference that is built around the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates who work with young people with the aim of imparting their skills, knowledge and wisdom to them for community and sustainable development. The conference usually draws students from Junior High and Senior High schools across Ghana who are usually trained and mentored on diverse areas including but not limited to commitment to justice and peace, social responsibility, academic excellence, entrepreneurship and sustainable development. History PeaceJam Ghana started in 2008 by its official chapter, the West Africa Center for Peace Foundation, Ghana (WACPF). Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu
The Presbyterian Secondary School, Osu was established in 1956 in one of the Old Basel Missionary Buildings at the foot of Kuku Hill of Osu. The motives of establishing the school are: 1. To offer Presbyterian Day Secondary education to children in Osu 2. To have a Secondary School at Osu in compensation for lack of a boarding school at Osu. It was seriously considered that the seat of the Basel Mission and Presbyterianism needed a higher school. The church and some individual educators teamed up to establish the school, with Mr. Cleland Armah as the first Headmaster of the school. In 1963, the school was absorbed into the public system under a new headmaster, Mr. McCarthy. He renovated the Old Basel Mission building into a school building accommodating two streams of classrooms, library, administration office and science laboratories. Half Assini Senior High School
Half Assini Senior High School is a coeducational senior high school located at Half Assini in the Western Region of Ghana. History The school was one of the schools founded by the first president of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He founded the school with sixty students and four teachers. The school was among the few early established schools in the country (Modern Ghana) and it attracted the best of brains across the continent. Most of the infrastructure in the school now was originally put up by Nkrumah, and sincerely it had one of the best science resource centers in the country at the time. Accra High School
Accra High School is a Senior High school located in Accra, Ghana in West Africa. It initially started as a Boys School. History Accra High School was founded by the late Rev. James Thomas Roberts on 17 August 1923. The school, was located at beach avenue in Aayalolo, a suburb of Accra, Ghana. The school celebrated its first anniversary in August 1924 with a church service at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Accra and the sermon was delivered by the Anglican Bishop of Accra, the late Dr. John Aglionby.
