Paulette Doan
Paulette Doan (married name: Ormsby) is a Canadian former ice dancer. She competed with Kenneth Ormsby. Together, they were the 1963 and 1964 Canadian champions and in those years won bronze and silver medals (respectively) at the World Figure Skating Championships. During her competitive career she lived in Toronto and was also enrolled in a secretarial course. After the 1964 season, Doan and Ormsby turned professional and toured with Ice Follies. They announced their engagement the day they joined the show. As of 2020, Paulette Ormsby is on the coaching staff at the Scarboro Figure Skating Club in Toronto, Ontario. Kenneth Ormsby
Kenneth Ormsby is a former Canadian ice dancer. Competing with Paulette Doan, he was the 1963 and 1964 Canadian champion and in those years won bronze and silver medals (respectively) at the World Figure Skating Championships. Ice Follies
The Ice Follies, formerly known as the Shipstads & Johnson Ice Follies, is a touring ice show featuring elaborate production numbers, similar in concept to Ice Capades. It was founded in 1936 by Eddie and Roy Shipstad, and Oscar Johnson. In later years, Olympic skaters such as Donald Jackson, Barbara Berezowski, Peggy Fleming, and Janet Lynn were in the cast. Ice Follies also featured novelty acts such as Frick and Frack and Richard Dwyer, who was billed as "Mr. Debonair". The production company is now called Ice Follies and Holiday on Ice, Inc., a subsidiary of Feld Entertainment which produces the shows under the Disney on Ice and "... on Ice" titles. North American Figure Skating Championships
The North American Figure Skating Championships were a former elite figure skating competition for skaters from the United States and Canada. It was a biennial (every two years) competition held between 1923 and 1971, with locations alternating between the two countries.
