Paul Russell (philosopher)
Paul Russell (born Glasgow, Scotland, 1955) is a professor in philosophy at Lund University, where he is Director of the Lund/Gothenburg Responsibility Project GRP His position at Lund is a half-time research position and has been made possible thanks to a major grant from the Swedish Research Council for "the international recruitment of leading researchers" (2014). Prior to his current position at Lund University he has held positions as Professor of philosophy at the University of British Columbia, and at Gothenburg University. Education and research Paul Russell holds an undergraduate degree from Edinburgh University (1979) and a PhD from Cambridge University (1986). At Cambridge his thesis work was supervised by Professor Sir Bernard Williams. He held a research fellowship at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge from 1984 to 1987. Rusty Russell is an Australian free software programmer and advocate, known for his work on the Linux kernel's networking subsystem and the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard. Software development Russell wrote the packet filtering systems ipchains and netfilter/iptables in the Linux operating system kernel. Linus Torvalds referred to him as one of his "top deputies" in 2003. In 2002, Russell announced the creation of the Trivial Patch Monkey, an email address for kernel hackers to submit trivial patches such as spelling errors, one-liners, documentation tweaks and other minor amendments to the code base. Paul A. Russell (''born Benjamin Paul Sheeder'') (1871–1957) was an outfielder/infielder in Major League Baseball. He played for the St. Louis Browns in 1894. After his brief MLB appearance he played in the minors from 1896 to 1900 in the Central Pennsylvania League The Central Pennsylvania League was a minor league baseball league which operated in several Pennsylvania cities from 1887 to 1888 and again from 1896 to 1898. Paul Russell (Gaelic Footballer)
Paul Russell (2 July 1906 – June 1965) was an Irish sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Dr. Crokes and was a member of the Kerry senior inter-county team from 1924 until 1933. In a senior inter-county career that lasted a decade, Russell won every honour in the game at senior level. The youngest player to win an All-Ireland medal, he was only seventeen when he captured his first celtic cross in 1924. He went on to add five more All-Ireland titles to his collection. Russell also won seven Munster medals, three National Football League medals and three Railway Cup medals with Munster. He also played for Ireland in the Tailteann Games in 1928 and 1932. Paul Russell (born 1966) is a British street photographer, based in Weymouth, Dorset. He was a member of the In-Public international street photography collective. Russell's work has been published in his own publications, the book ''Eastleigh By-election 2013'' and the zines ''On Weymouth Beach'' and ''Country Show'', and in a few survey publications on street photography. His work is held in the collection of the Museum of London and he has had solo exhibitions in venues around the UK, and in group exhibitions in various locations worldwide. Supergroove
Supergroove is a New Zealand funk rock music group. Their debut album ''Traction (album), Traction'' was released in 1994. The group disbanded in 1997 but reformed in 2007. History The band was founded on New Year's Eve 1989/1990, having previously been named the Low-Down Dirty Blues Band. Supergroove's first release was the single ''Here Comes the Supergroove'', which wasn't added to either of their original albums. Supergroove released two albums of original content – ''Traction (album), Traction'', from which four singles were taken, and ''Backspacer (Supergroove album), Backspacer'', which yielded two singles. On 22 August 2022, Olivia Pratt-Korbel, a nine-year-old girl, was shot by a masked gunman in Liverpool, England, and was pronounced dead the same day at the city's Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
