Patrick Battiston
Patrick Raymond Jean Battiston (born 12 March 1957) is a French former footballer who played as a defender for the France national team in three World Cups and won the 1984 European Football Championship. At club level, he played for Metz, Saint-Étienne, Bordeaux, and Monaco, winning five Ligue 1 titles and one Coupe de France. Club career Born in Amnéville, Moselle, Battiston began his career at lower league club Talange (1966–1973), before he was spotted and purchased by FC Metz (1973–1980). After seven years at that club, he moved to Saint-Etienne (1980–1983) for three years, where they won the 1981 Division 1 title, before moving to Bordeaux (1983–1987), where they won the 1984, 1985 and 1987 league titles and two Coupe de France. Amnéville
Amnéville (; german: Amenweiler, 1940–45: ) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in northeastern France. The town is an important tourist and thermal spa center in France. Geography Amnéville is located in the Moselle valley, between Metz and Thionville. Population History A Celtic presence on the municipal territory of Amnéville has been attested since the 6th century BC. Excavations have demonstrated the existence of a village and a necropolis. The 1982 FIFA World Cup was the 12th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial Association football, football tournament for men's senior national teams, and was played in Spain between 13 June and 11 July 1982. Rio Antonio Zoba Mavuba (born 8 March 1984) is a French former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He works as assistant manager at Bordeaux II. He spent most of his professional career with Bordeaux and Lille, winning the 2011 national championship with the latter. A France international since 2004, Mavuba represented the country at the 2014 World Cup. Early years Mavuba's father was Mavuba Mafuila, a footballer who appeared at the 1974 FIFA World Cup with Zaire, while his mother was an Angolan national. Marouane Chamakh
Marouane Chamakh (; ar, مروان الشماخ; born 10 January 1984) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is described as a prototypical target man and is noted for his "link-up play", "tall stature" and "excellent heading ability". Chamakh is also Bordeaux's eleventh highest goalscorer of all-time. Charles George Reinier Corver (16 January 1936 – 10 November 2020) was a Dutch football referee. Career He was decorated twice by the Queen (Order of Orange-Nassau) and the football association (KNVB-UEFA-FIFA). He refereed the 1982 World Cup semifinal between Germany and France in Seville, Spain, when he deemed goalkeeper Harald Schumacher's collision with Patrick Battiston to be not a foul. Michel François Platini (born 21 June 1955) is a French football administrator and former player and manager.
