Patricia Maldonado Aravena
Clorinda Érika Patricia Maldonado Aravena (born September 17, 1950), better known as just Patricia Maldonado, is a Chilean singer and television presenter. In the 1970s to the late 1990s, she was active as a singer and political activist. Maldonado is widely known in the Chilean media for her strong personality and political controversy. Artistic career Maldonado began her career as a performer of boleros and ballads during the 1970s and 1980s. In 1979, she gained stardom with the song "La quintralada", composed by Florcita Motuda. That same year, she represented Chile at the OTI Festival held in Caracas, Venezuela, with the song "La Música", by Scottie Scott. In 1982 she debuted as an actor in the telenovela ''De cara al Mañana'' on TVN. At the same time, she was the host of the program ''Pare, mire y escuche'' and participated as a comedian in ''Jappening con Ja'', replacing Maitén Montenegro. Eduardo Frei Montalva
Eduardo Nicanor Frei Montalva (; 16 January 1911 – 22 January 1982) was a Chilean political leader. In his long political career, he was Minister of Public Works, president of his Christian Democratic Party, senator, President of the Senate, and the 27th president of Chile from 1964 to 1970. His eldest son, Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, also became president of Chile (1994–2000). Frei's Christian Democratic Party supported the Armed Forces intervention to remove his successor Salvador Allende from office in 1973, after the Chamber of Deputies, on 22 August 1973, accused Allende of violating the Constitution. The 1988 Chilean national plebiscite was a national referendum held on 5 October 1988 to determine whether Chile's ''de facto'' leader, Augusto Pinochet, should extend his rule for another eight years through 1996. The "No" side won with nearly 56% of the vote, indicating the end of Pinochet's fifteen and a half years in power. After democratic elections in 1989, a new government took power in 1990.
