Pathio District
Pathio ( th, ปะทิว, ) is a district ('' amphoe'') in the northern part of Chumphon province, southern Thailand. The province's main airport, Chumphon Airport is in Pathio. Pathio has alternate English spellings, Pathiu and Pathiew. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise) Mueang Chumphon, Tha Sae of Chumphon Province, and Bang Saphan Noi of Prachuap Khiri Khan province. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand. The area features numerous limestone caves and rock formations from the Mesozoic Era. Thesaban Tambon
Thesaban ( th, เทศบาล, , ) are the municipalities of Thailand. There are three levels of municipalities: city, town, and sub-district. Bangkok and Pattaya are special municipal entities not included in the ''thesaban'' system. Muban
Muban ( th, หมู่บ้าน; , ) is the lowest administrative sub-division of Thailand. Usually translated as 'village' and sometimes as 'hamlet', they are a subdivision of a tambon (subdistrict). , there were 74,944 administrative mubans in Thailand. Bang Saphan Noi ( th, บางสะพานน้อย, ) is the southernmost district (''amphoe'') of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, central Thailand. History The minor district (''king amphoe'') Bang Saphan Noi was split off from Bang Saphan district on 10 June 1974. It was upgraded to a full district on 13 July 1981. Etymology The name ''Bang Saphan Noi'' originates from the time of the building of the southern railway. The workers had to build two bridges north and south of the railway station which later became the center of the district. Tha Sae District
Tha Sae ( th, ท่าแซะ, ) is a district ('' amphoe'') in the northwestern part of Chumphon province, southern Thailand. History ''Mueang'' Tha Sae was under ''Mueang'' Chumphon, with its governor having the rank ''phra''. King Chulalongkorn downgraded Mueang Tha Sae to a district of Chumphon Province. In 1920 the government downgraded Tha Sae to a minor district (''king amphoe'') of Pathio district. It was officially upgraded to a full district again in 1940. Chumphon Airport , ( th, ท่าอากาศยานชุมพร), is an airport in Tambon Chum Kho, Pathio District, Chumphon, Thailand. The airport is 35 kilometres north of Chumphon. Airlines and destinations Overview In 2008 the airport reopened after nine years of closure. The airport now serves as a gateway to the islands of the Gulf of Thailand. Plans Airports of Thailand PCL (AOT) is budgeting 220 billion baht in 2018 for the creation of two new airports and the expansion of four existing airports owned by the Department of Airports.
