Carolyn Parkhurst (born January 18, 1971, Manchester, New Hampshire) is an American author who has published five books. Her first, the 2003 best-seller '' The Dogs of Babel'' also known as ''Lorelei's Secret'' in the UK, was a ''New York Times'' Notable Book and on ''The New York Times'' Best Seller list. She followed that effort with ''The New York Times'' bestselling ''Lost and Found'' in June 2006 and '' The Nobodies Album'' in June 2010. Her first children's book, written with Dan Yaccarino, ''Cooking with Henry and Elliebelly'', was released in Fall, 2010. Parkhurst says she wrote her first story at age three by dictating ''The Table Family'' to her mother. Helen Parkhurst (March 8, 1886 – June 1, 1973) was an American educator, author, lecturer, the originator of the Dalton Plan, founder of the Dalton School and host of ''Child's World with Helen Parkhurst'' on ABC Television Network. Parkhurst is a historic home at Harwood, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is a large two-story frame house with a complex floor plan, reflecting the evolution of the dwelling. Parkhurst prison is one of the two formerly separate prisons that today make up HMP Isle of Wight, the other being Albany. Parkhurst is a neighbourhood northwest of the town of Newport, Isle of Wight, Newport, Isle of Wight. It has few amenities, but a large residential population. It is notable for housing H.M.P. John Adelbert Parkhurst (September 24, 1861 – March 1, 1925) was an American astronomer. He was born in Dixon, Illinois, and attended the public schools in Marengo, IL and Wheaton College. He then attended Rose Polytechnic Institute in Terre Haute, Indiana, earning a B.Sc. in 1886. For the following two years he taught mathematics at the same school. Charles Henry Parkhurst (April 17, 1842 – September 8, 1933) was an American clergyman and social reformer, born in Framingham, Massachusetts. Although scholarly and reserved, he preached two sermons in 1892 in which he attacked the political corruption of New York City government. Backed by the evidence he collected, his statements led to both the exposure of Tammany Hall and to subsequent social and political reforms. John Parkhurst (c. 1512 – 2 February 1575) was an English Marian exile and from 1560 the Bishop of Norwich. Early life Born about 1512, he was son of George Parkhurst of Guildford, Surrey. He initially attended the Royal Grammar School, Guildford, before at an early age moving to Magdalen College School at Oxford. Subsequently, he joined Merton College, where he was admitted to a fellowship in 1529 after graduating B.A. (24 July 1528). He was an adept in the composition of Latin epigrams. He took holy orders in 1532, and proceeded M.A. 19 February 1533. While he was acting as tutor at Merton, John Jewel was his pupil and they remained friends through life.
