In religion, paradise is a place of exceptional happiness and delight. Paradisiacal notions are often laden with pastoral imagery, and may be cosmogonical or eschatological or both, often compared to the miseries of human civilization: in paradise there is only peace, prosperity, and happiness. Paradise Trilogy
''Paradise'' (german: Paradies) is the collective name of three films directed by Ulrich Seidl: '' Paradise: Love'' (2012), '' Paradise: Faith'' (2012) and '' Paradise: Hope'' (2013). They focus on three women from one family; one of them travels to Kenya as a sex tourist, one has to spend time at a weight loss camp, and one tries to propagate Catholicism. The project is an Austrian majority production with co-producers in Germany and France. It was conceived as one feature film, but after a long gestation became three entries forming a trilogy. The first installment, '' Paradise: Love'', competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Paradies (Constance)
Paradies (literally: "paradise") is a former village, now a quarter of Konstanz, Germany. The district is located west of the Old Town on the southern shore of the Seerhein; with an area of about 63.2 hectare (, to be exact) and 6176 inhabitants (2007 census). In the Late Middle Ages, it was a fishing and farming village called ''Eggehusen''. Its original centre was the St Leonard's Chapel erected in the 14th century at the site of a former Poor Clares monastery with the name ''claustrum Paradysi apud Constantiam'' founded in 1186. In 1253 the nuns left their convent on the outskirts of Konstanz and moved to Schlatt near Schaffhausen; while the name ''Paradies'' stuck. The chapel was rebuilt in 1921, it today is consecrated to St Martin. In 1610, about 300 people were living in Paradies. Die Toten Hosen (literally "The Dead Trousers", figuratively "The Deadbeats") is a German punk rock band from Düsseldorf. History The current members of Die Toten Hosen are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Stephen Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf). All members except one are German, though Campino's mother, Jenny, was English. The drummer Vom comes from England. He joined in 1999, after previous drummer Wölli sustained injuries in a car crash. Wölli had played from 1985 to 1999 and was an honorary member of the band until his death in 2016. The drummer until 1985 was Trini Trimpop, who became the band's manager when Wölli joined. Želimir Žilnik ( sr-cyr, Желимир Жилник; ; born 8 September 1942) is a Serbian film director best known as one of the major figures of the Yugoslav Black Wave film movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Early life Žilnik was born in 1942 in the Gestapo-run Crveni Krst concentration camp near the city of Niš in southern occupied Serbia. Both of his parents were Communist activists who were executed. His father was a Slovene who was captured and killed by Chetniks, and posthumously honored as a Yugoslav People's Hero. After his mother was executed, he was released and raised by his maternal grandparents. As a youth he was editor of a communist magazine called ''Tribina Mladih''. As a student, Žilnik was chosen to take part in an international cultural exchange program in New York City, where he was first exposed to films that dealt with social and political criticisms. Ewa Paradies
Ewa Paradies (17 December 1920 – 4 July 1946) was a Nazi concentration camp overseer. In August 1944, Paradies arrived at the Stutthof SK-III camp for training as an '' Aufseherin'', or overseer. She soon finished training and became a wardress. In October 1944, she was reassigned to Stutthof's Bromberg-Ost subcamp, and in January 1945, back to the main Stutthof camp. In April 1945, Paradies accompanied one of the last transports of women prisoners to the Lauenburg subcamp and fled. After she was captured, she was a defendant in the Stutthof trial. One witness testified:She ordered a group of female prisoners to undress in the freezing cold of winter, and then doused them with ice cold water. When the women moved, Paradies beat them. Execution For this and other brutalities, including causing the deaths of some prisoners, Paradies was sentenced to death.
