Paquito Cordero
Paquito Cordero (October 16, 1932 – June 30, 2009), was a pioneer of Puerto Rican television. He was also a comedian and a musical and television producer. Early years Cordero (birth name: Francisco Cordero Baez) was born to Francisco Cordero Paco and Berta Baez de Cordero in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Cordero attended Santurce Central High School upon finishing his primary and secondary education. He was a member of his high school's drama club and participated in its plays, where he discovered the art of comedy. Cordero was geatly influenced by his aunt on his father's side, Mapy Cortés. Mapy Cortés had moved to Mexico from Puerto Rico, where she became an actress. She married the Puerto Rican-born Mexican actor Fernando Cortés, a childhood friend. Santurce, Puerto Rico
Santurce (, from the Basque '' Santurtzi'' which means Saint George) is a barrio or district in the municipality of San Juan. Its population in 2020 was 69,469. Eddie Miró
Eddie Miró (born March 15, 1935 in Humacao, Puerto Rico), is a television show host in Puerto Rico of Sephardic origin. He is best known for being the host of Telemundo Puerto Rico's variety show ''El Show de las 12'' (The 12 pm Show) for over 40 years. Like Dick Clark in the United States, Miró is known for longevity in front of the cameras while aging relatively little physically. During the long television run of "El Show de las 12", he came into contact with many famous entertainers, both local and foreign. Menudo (band)
Menudo is a Puerto Rican boy band that was formed in Puerto Rico by producer Edgardo Díaz. Referred to as the "Most Iconic Latino Pop Music Band", Menudo has been ranked as one of the Biggest Boy Bands of All Time by several publications, including '' Billboard'', ''Us Weekly'', '' Seventeen'', and '' Teen Vogue'', being the only Latin band on their lists. The band had several radio hits during its course. They acted in a television film (1979's ''Leyenda de Amor'') and two feature films, ''Una aventura llamada Menudo'' and '' Menudo: La Película'', in a telenovela named "Quiero Ser" and a television mini-series named ''Panchito y Arturo''. Adrian Garcia (actor)
Adrian Garcia (born December 26, 1960) is an American politician and the current County Commissioner foPrecinct 2in Harris County, Texas. Garcia spent 23 years with the Houston Police Department, before becoming a city councilman. Garcia served six years as a Houston City Councilman, eventually becoming Mayor Pro-Tempore under former Mayor Bill White. In 2008, he became Sheriff of Harris County. In 2015, Garcia stepped down from post as Sheriff to run for Mayor of the City of Houston. Otilio Warrington
Otilio Warrington, known popularly as Bizcocho (born February 26, 1944) is a comedian, best known for his roles of "Bizcocho" and "Cuca Gómez". Early years Warrington was born in the Barrio Obrero area of Santurce, Puerto Rico. When he was nine years old, his family moved to the Lloréns Torres public housing project. There he lived for the next 25 years. Warrington left school when he was a teenager and made a living by polishing shoes at a local barbershop. One of the barbershop's regular customers was Tommy Muñiz, a television show producer. One day Warrington asked Muñiz for a job in television but was told to get some more education and come back to him after he graduated. Juan Manuel Lebrón Román (born April 22, 1947) is a Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican actor, model, screenwriter, television producer and Salsa music, salsa singer. Career Juan Manuel Lebrón Román began his show business career as a youngster, then when he became a singer at the Sexteto Ritmico group. Not long after, Lebrón became the lead singer of Orquesta Sensacional, a popular salsa orchestra of the era. In 1976, Lebrón made his debut as an actor, when he was hired to play "JuanMa" in WKAQ-TV, channel 2's comedy show, "En Casa de JuanMa y Wiwi" ("At JuanMa and Wiwi's Home"). Awilda "Wiwi" Carbia (January 30, 1938 – March 22, 2009) was a Puerto Rican actress, comedian, and impersonator. Early years Awilda Carbia started her acting career at age seven, and later in her acting career. Lou Briel (born October 19, 1954, Santurce, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican singer, composer, comedian, record producer, pianist, and host, among other things. Musical career Early years with Anexo 3 Lou Briel started his career at a very young age as a singer, director and member of a pop musical group called ''Anexo 3''. Together they recorded four albums, the first two produced by Alfred D. Herger, and reached popularity with songs such as: "Oh, Cuanto te Amo" ("Oh, how much I love you"), "Contigo" (With you), & "Por eso estoy Preso", (That's why I'm a prisoner), among others. Raquel Montero (born 1944 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine-Puerto Rican television and theater actress, show host and comedian. Luis Antonio Rivera a.k.a. "Yoyo Boing" (born April 9, 1930) is a Puerto Rican actor, comedian and television show host, who was also one of the pioneers of Puerto Rican television. Early years Rivera was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico and his parents moved to Santurce, a section of San Juan, from Humacao when he was only three years old. After receiving his primary education, Rivera attended the "Escuela Superior Central de Santurce" ( Central High School of Santurce).
