Awilda Carbia
Awilda "Wiwi" Carbia (January 30, 1938 – March 22, 2009) was a Puerto Rican actress, comedian, and impersonator. Early years Awilda Carbia started her acting career at age seven, and later in her acting career. In the 1970s, she hosted the children's television show, ''Estrella Galaxia'' (''Galaxy Star''), broadcast by WAPA-TV. Later, she left the show, and her daughter, Puerto Rican television host Myraida Chaves (1960-2021), took over, playing "Estrellita Galaxia" ("Little Galaxy Star"). 1960s During the 1960s, Carbia performed as a comedian in several television shows, such as ''Rendezvous Nocturno'', produced by Cuban television producer Tony Chiroldes, and ''El Show del Mediodía'' (''The Mid-day Show''), produced by Puerto Rican producer Tommy Muñiz. Otilio Warrington, known popularly as Bizcocho (born February 26, 1944) is a comedian, best known for his roles of "Bizcocho" and "Cuca Gómez". Early years Warrington was born in the Barrio Obrero area of Santurce, Puerto Rico. When he was nine years old, his family moved to the Lloréns Torres public housing project. There he lived for the next 25 years. Warrington left school when he was a teenager and made a living by polishing shoes at a local barbershop. One of the barbershop's regular customers was Tommy Muñiz, a television show producer. One day Warrington asked Muñiz for a job in television but was told to get some more education and come back to him after he graduated. Nydia Caro (born June 7, 1948) is a Puerto Rican singer. Early years Caro was born in New York City to parents from Rincón, Puerto Rico, initiated her career in the arts at a very young age while living in New York. Luz Esther Benítez Rosado (born July 22, 1942), also known as Lucecita, is a Puerto Rican singer, part of the country's new wave popular music. Born in Bayamon, a large city in Puerto Rico, she participated in amateur radio shows. Benítez's most important career step came in 1969, when she won the ''Festival de la Cancion Latina'' (''Festival of the Latin Song'') in Mexico. She participated with two songs, "Génesis" by G.V. Lloveras and "Energía de mis manos", by M. de Jesús. "Genesis" received the highest points (223) in the festival and Lucecita also won as best dressed performer. Carmita Jiménez (August 3, 1939 – August 10, 2003) was a Puerto Rican singer who was considered a diva in Puerto Rico. She was born in San Lorenzo. Carmita Jiménez started her singing career at the young age of six, on the radio show named ''El Abuelito Welch'' (''Grandpa Welch'') with another legendary Puerto Rican show business legend, José Miguel Agrelot.
