Paolo Vaccari
Paolo Vaccari (born 17 January 1971) is an Italian former rugby union player. He was a versatile back: he used to play as Centre, Wing or Full-back. He is currently a sports manager. Biography Born and raised in Calvisano, Vaccari debuted with Rugby Calvisano's senior squad on 1 February 1987 against Petrarca in Padua. After six seasons with Calvisano he moved to Amatori Milano, then owned by Silvio Berlusconi and known as "Milan Rugby", and won an Italian title in 1995; got back to Calvisano he joined the Italian Championship's Final 6 times in a row, from 2001 to 2006, winning the title again in 2005. Vaccari won his first cap in 1991 against Namibia in Windhoek (defeat 7–17, although he scored a try at his debut); he went on playing three consecutive editions of the Rugby World Cup (1991, 1995 and 1999). Rugby World Cup
The Rugby World Cup is a men's rugby union tournament contested every four years between the top international teams. The tournament is administered by World Rugby, the sport's international governing body. The winners are awarded the Webb Ellis Cup, named after William Webb Ellis, who according to a popular legend, invented rugby by picking up the ball during a football game. The tournament was first held in 1987 and was co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia. Four countries have won the trophy; New Zealand and South Africa three times, Australia twice, and England once. 2003 Six Nations
The 2003 Six Nations Championship was the fourth series of the rugby union Six Nations Championship, and the 109th international championship overall. The annual tournament was won by England, who completed a grand slam, and went on to win the 2003 Rugby World Cup later the same year. Italy won their first match with Wales (30-22), finishing in 5th place for the first time in the process. This was the sixth time in the Championship's history, but the first time since it became the Six Nations, that two teams met in the final round with undefeated records, both England and Ireland having won their first four games, making the final match a decider for the Grand Slam. The Scotland national rugby union team represents Scotland in men's international rugby union and is administered by the Scottish Rugby Union. Barbarian Football Club
The Barbarian Football Club, known as the Barbarians is a British-based invitational rugby union club. The Barbarians play in black and white hoops, though players wear socks from their own club strip. Membership is by invitation. As of 2011, players from 31 countries had played for them. Traditionally at least one uncapped player is selected for each match. Until rugby union became a professional sport, the Barbarians usually played six annual matches: with Penarth, Cardiff, Swansea and Newport at Easter; a game with Leicester on 27 December and the Mobbs Memorial Match against East Midlands in the spring. European Nations Cup (rugby Union)
The Rugby Europe International Championships is the European Championship for tier 2 and tier 3 rugby union nations. The tournament is split into 5 levels, each with 5 or 6 teams. Its highest level is now called the Rugby Europe Championship and, unofficially, referred to as the Six Nations B.
