Panama and its OTI member station, TVN started participating in the OTI Festival in the very first show, which was held in Madrid in 1972. TVN (Panama)
TVN is a television network headquartered in Panama City, Panama, with repeaters throughout the country. The stations broadcast in the NTSC format and DVB-T for Panama City. In DVB-T format it was the only TV station in HD for most of the day and they also broadcast in a sub-channel two hours behind programming from the main channel(DVB-T only), being the first TV station to have this service. Main programming consists of local news, telenovelas, and Panamanian reality shows called ''Produccion Nacional'' (national productions). TVN rarely broadcasts sports, however, they launched sister station TV Max channel 9 to specialize in those programs. OTI Festival
OTI Festival ( es, Festival OTI de la Canción, pt, Festival OTI da Canção), often known simply as La OTI, was an international song competition, organised annually between 1972 and 2000 by the Organización de Televisión Iberoamericana (OTI) (English: Iberoamerican Television Organisation), featuring participants representing primarily Ibero-American countries. Each participating OTI member broadcaster submitted an original song in Spanish or Portuguese to be performed on live television and transmitted to all OTI broadcasters via satellite. It was preceded by the Festival Mundial de la Canción Latina, held in 1969 and 1970 in Mexico. The festival was an Ibero-American spin-off of the Eurovision Song Contest. Gaitanes
Biography From their native Panama, they began their careers in 1989, forming their first group named Impakto (Impact) under the direction of their father Dicky Gaitán, and the management of their mother Dalys. Along with their musical careers, they earned their college degrees as Business Administrator and Attorney, respectively. In 1997 they performed at the OTI Festival, representing their home country Panama.
