Enrique Eduardo Lafourcade Valdenegro (14 October 1927 – 29 July 2019) was a Chileans, Chilean writer, critic and journalist from Santiago. ''Little White Dove'' ( es, Palomita blanca) is a 1973 Chilean dramedy film directed by Raúl Ruiz. It is loosely based on the bestselling 1971 novel '' Palomita Blanca'' by Enrique Lafourcade. As a result of the 1973 Chilean coup d'état and military dictatorship (1973–1990), the film was presumed lost for many years and not released until 1992. Plot The film tells the story of Juan Carlos and María, a wealthy and troubled young man and a poor and naive girl, respectively, who fall in love at a hippie concert. The film explores the social differences and political context of the time. Production The film was shot in 1973 over six weeks with a budget of $170,000. It was completed just days before the military coup led by Augusto Pinochet on September 11th, which overthrew the government of Salvador Allende. Piedra Roja was a music festival in Chile noted as an expression of the Hippie, hippie counterculture in South America. Following the success of Woodstock, a similar music festival was held in Chile between 10 and 12 October 1970 in the eastern area of Santiago, Chile, Santiago. Among others, the following bands performed in the festival: Aguaturbia, Los Blops, Lágrima Seca and Los Jaivas. Similarly to Woodstock, chaos marked the festival, involving problems with sound, drugs and delinquency. The festival showed for the first time that the young population in Chile during that time was a group to reckon with. Los Jaivas is a Chilean musical group who perform in folk, rock, psychedelic, and progressive rock styles formed in 1963 in Viña Del Mar, Chile. They are considered one of the most important and influential artists of all time in Latin America. Raúl Ernesto Ruiz Pino (french: Raoul Ruiz; 25 July 1941 – 19 August 2011) was an experimental Chilean filmmaker, writer and teacher whose work is best known in France. He directed more than 100 films. Biography The son of a ship's captain and a schoolteacher in southern Chile, Raúl Ruiz abandoned his university studies in theology and law to write 100 plays with the support of a Rockefeller Foundation grant. He went on to learn his craft working in Chilean and Mexican television and studying at film school in Argentina (1964). Back in Chile, he made his feature debut ''Three Sad Tigers'' (1968), sharing the Golden Leopard at the 1969 Locarno Film Festival.
