Piedra Roja
Piedra Roja was a music festival in Chile noted as an expression of the Hippie, hippie counterculture in South America. Following the success of Woodstock, a similar music festival was held in Chile between 10 and 12 October 1970 in the eastern area of Santiago, Chile, Santiago. Among others, the following bands performed in the festival: Aguaturbia, Los Blops, Lágrima Seca and Los Jaivas. Similarly to Woodstock, chaos marked the festival, involving problems with sound, drugs and delinquency. The festival showed for the first time that the young population in Chile during that time was a group to reckon with. It also showed the increasing social tension that would end in the 1973 Chilean coup d'état. Los Jaivas
Los Jaivas is a Chilean musical group who perform in folk, rock, psychedelic, and progressive rock styles formed in 1963 in Viña Del Mar, Chile. They are considered one of the most important and influential artists of all time in Latin America. History The origins of Los Jaivas can be found in the family nucleus made up of the brothers Eduardo, Claudio and Gabriel Parra, from Viña del Mar. Together with their friends and classmates from high school at the Liceo Guillermo Rivera Cotapos, located on Calle Montaña (a few steps de la Quinta Vergara), Los Jaivas appeared in Chilean music in August 15, 1963, under the name of The High & Bass as a progressive-rock-andino group, mixing rock with South American ancestral music. Los Blops
Los Blops were a Chilean rock band, regarded as one of the foremost bands in the country. The band originally formed in the town of Isla Negra in 1964 to perform cover versions of pop hits in local clubs. They took their name from characters in a popular comic strip, ''Condorito''. The original band members were Julio Villalobos (guitar, vocals), Alejandro Greene (guitar) and Pedro Greene (drums). After Alejandro Greene left in 1966, the remaining pair were joined by Felipe Orrego (guitar) and his cousins Juan Pablo Orrego (bass) and Andrés Orrego (vocals).
