Palmetto Championship
The Palmetto Championship at Congaree was a PGA Tour stroke play event that was played for the first time from June 10–13, 2021 at Congaree Golf Club in Gillisonville near Ridgeland, South Carolina. The event was announced April 2, 2021 and was a one-time event, as a replacement to the 2021 RBC Canadian Open which was canceled due to logistical challenges related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Gillisonville, South Carolina
Gillisonville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Jasper County, in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 183. History A post office called Gillisonville was in operation from 1840 until 1927. During the Civil War, Gillisonville was nearly obliterated by order of Maj. Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman. Gillisonville Baptist Church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 2020–21 PGA Tour
The 2020–21 PGA Tour was the 106th season of the PGA Tour, and the 54th since separating from the PGA of America. The season began on September 10, 2020. The 2021 FedEx Cup Playoffs began on August 19, and concluded on September 5, 2021. Because of rescheduling during the 2019–20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, six major championships occurred during the timeframe of the 2020–21 season, with two editions of both the U.S. Open and Masters Tournament, as well as the 2020 Summer Olympics. As such, the PGA Tour marketed this season as a "super season". By winning the Tour Championship, Patrick Cantlay became the FedEx Cup champion. Jhonattan Vegas (born 19 August 1984) is a Venezuelan professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and is a two-time Olympian. Vegas was born in Maturín, Venezuela. He played college golf at the University of Texas, graduating with a degree in kinesiology. Bo Van Pelt
Bo Van Pelt (born May 16, 1975) is an American professional golfer who has played on both the Nationwide Tour and the PGA Tour. He has featured in the top 20 of the Official World Golf Ranking. Van Pelt was born in Richmond, Indiana.
