Paducah Tilghman High School
Paducah Tilghman High School is a public secondary school in Paducah, Kentucky. It is the only high school in the Paducah Independent School District. History The school opened at its first location in 1900, and was named Paducah High School, and was a segregated school for white students. In 1921, the school moved to a location on Jetton Boulevard, and the original building became the location for Washington Junior High School. That first building has since been demolished. The new school on Jetton Boulevard was named Augusta Tilghman High School in honor of Augusta Tilghman, whose sons donated $20,000 for the school's construction. Augusta Tilghman was the wife of Lloyd Tilghman, a Confederate States Army general and Paducah native who died in the Battle of Vicksburg. The building also housed Walter C. The Lincoln School (1894–1970), also known as Lincoln High School, was a segregated public elementary and high school for African American students, located in Paducah, Kentucky, United States. The buildings for the school complex were demolished, sometime after 1988. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) since June 23, 1988 for its contribution to educational history and ethnic heritage. The Carolina Panthers are a professional American football team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Hunter Cantwell
Hunter Cantwell (born December 30, 1985) is a former American football quarterback. After playing college football for the Louisville Cardinals, he was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He spent most of the 2009 season on the team's practice squad, and was promoted to the active roster late in the season. Cantwell was signed to the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad in 2010 and 2011 before becoming the quarterbacks coach for Campbellsville University. Later on, Cantwell served as head coach at Carroll County High in Kentucky in 2017 and 2018, and is currently the head coach at Christian Academy of Louisville. Benjamin Joel Beaton (born 1981) is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. Education Beaton is a 1999 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, ''summa cum laude'', from Centre College and his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School, where he served as an Articles Editor on the ''Columbia Law Review''. Kurt Barber (born January 5, 1969) is the former head coach for Paducah Tilghman High School's football team and a former linebacker for the USC Trojans and in the National Football League (NFL). High school career Barber prepped at Paducah Tilghman High School where he won the Kentucky "Mr. Football" Award in 1987. He was a high school All-American as both wide receiver and linebacker.
