Pacific Princess
MS ''Azamara Onward,'' formerly ''R Three'' and ''Pacific Princess'' is a cruise ship owned and operated by Azamara Cruises since 2022. She was built in 1999 by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France for Renaissance Cruises. In 2002, following the failure of Renaissance Cruises, the ship was sold to Princess Cruises and renamed ''Pacific Princess.'' On 21 January 2021, Carnival announced the ship had been sold to an unnamed buyer, later revealed to be Azamara Cruises. Construction and career ''R Three'' The vessel first entered operation in 1999, with Renaissance Cruises. The ship was not owned by the company, with possession instead residing with a group of French investors, who leased the ship to the company. MS Pacific
MS ''Pacific'' (known as Sea Venture from 1971 to 1975, Pacific Princess from 1975 to 2002, and simply Pacific from 2002 to 2013) was a cruise ship owned and operated by the Brazil-based Viagens CVC. She was built for Flagship Cruises in 1971 by the company Nordseewerke in Emden, West Germany, and named ''Sea Venture''. She operated cruises between the United States and Bermuda, which had been settled by the survivors of the wreck of the original ''Sea Venture'' in 1609. Between 1975 and 2002 she sailed for Princess Cruises as ''Pacific Princess'', becoming famous for appearing in the romantic comedy anthology TV series ''The Love Boat'', airing from 1977 to 1986, along with several later made-for-TV movies with the same theme and a revival of two more seasons as '' Love Boat: The Next Wave'' from 1998 to 1999.
