Pwint San
Pwint San ( my, ပွင့်ဆန်း, also spelt Pwint Hsan; born 13 July 1961 in Rangoon, Burma) is the incumbent Minister of Labour of Myanmar. He served as Minister for Commerce from 3 February 2021 to 19 August 2022 in the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état by the Burmese military. Career Pwint San is a medical doctor by training, and later became a businessman. In the 2020 general election, he became a politician of the Burmese military's proxy party, the Union Solidarity and Development Party, and won a seat of Pyithu Hluttaw for Mayangon Township. He later served as a deputy commerce minister during Thein Sein's presidency. He subsequently became a central executive in the USDP. In the 2015 general election, he ran for House of Representatives seat from Manyangone Township but lost. 2021 Myanmar Coup D'état
A coup d'état in Myanmar began on the morning of 1 February 2021, when democratically elected members of the country's ruling party, the National League for Democracy (NLD), were deposed by the Tatmadaw—Myanmar's military—which then vested power in a military junta. Acting president Myint Swe proclaimed a year-long state of emergency and declared power had been transferred to Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing. Thein Sein ( my, သိန်းစိန်; IPA: ; born 20 April 1944) is a Burmese politician and retired general in the Myanmar Army who served as the eighth President of Myanmar from 2011 to 2016. The Pyithu Hluttaw ( my, ပြည်သူ့ လွှတ်တော်, ; House of Representatives) is the ''de jure'' lower house of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, the bicameral legislature of Myanmar (Burma). It consists of 440 members, of which 330 are directly elected through the first-past-the-post system in each townships (the third-level administrative divisions of Myanmar), and 110 are appointed by the Myanmar Armed Forces.
