8th Bangladesh National Film Awards
The 8th Bangladesh National Film Awards were presented by the Ministry of Information, Bangladesh to felicitate the best of Bangladeshi cinema released in the year 1983. The ceremony took place in Dhaka in 1983 and awards were given by the then president of Bangladesh. Satya Saha (25 December 1934 – 27 January 1999) was a Bangladeshi composer, and musician. Bulbul Ahmed (born Tabarruk Ahmed; 4 September 1941 – 15 July 2010) was a Bangladeshi actor and director. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor award three times for his roles in the films ''Shimana Periye'' (1977), '' Badhu Biday'' (1978) and ''Shesh Uttar'' (1980). Besides, he was the producer of the film ''Rajlakshmi Srikanta'' (1987) which won the Best Film award. Early life and career Ahmed's father, Khalil Ahmed, was a government employee and an amateur actor. Ahmed started his acting career through stage drama in 1965. Jayashree Kabir (; born 1952) is a Bengali film actress. She acted in around 30 films in West Bengal and Bangladesh. Career While studying in South Point School Jayashree Roy earned Miss Kolkata title in 1968. She got her first break from Satyajit Ray through the film ''Pratidwandi'' in 1969. She married Bangladeshi film director Alamgir Kabir and starred in two of his films, ''Simana Periye'' and ''Rupali Soikote'', which are regarded by the British Film Institute (BFI) as among the finest films to have come out of Bangladesh. Syed Shamsul Haq (27 December 1935 – 27 September 2016) was a Bangladeshi writer. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1966 (the youngest among all to receive it), Ekushey Padak in 1984 and Independence Day Award in 2000 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contributions to Bangla literature. Anwar Hossain (6 October 1948 – 1 December 2018) was a Bangladeshi photographer and cinematographer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Cinematography a record five times for the films Sundori (1979), Emiler Goenda Bahini (1980), Puraskar (1983), Anya Jibon (1995) and Lalsalu (2003). Early life and education Hossain was born in Old Dhaka in 1948. He completed his SSC from Armanitola Government High School and HSC from Notre Dame College, Dhaka in 1965 and 1967 respectively.
