PureVolume
PureVolume (formerly Unborn Media) was a website for uploading and streaming of music files, the first independently run of its type. PureVolume was created by Unborn Media, Inc; Mitchell Pavao; Brett Woitunski; and Nate Hudson, all from the University of Massachusetts. PureVolume is a website for the discovery and promotion of new music and emerging artists. The mission was to give artists a new promotion tool. Each artist had a profile that typically contains basic info, updates, photos, shows and music for streaming. Artists had the option of making each of their songs available for free download. Listeners and fans were also able to create profiles to interact with artists and each other, as well as track and share music they liked. PureVolume went through several layout changes and a change from orange to blue, but the layout from the homepage to the artist profiles remained essentially the same since 2003. He Is We is an American indie pop act formed in Tacoma, Washington, in 2008 by singer Rachel Taylor and guitarist Trevor Kelly, with Taylor being the sole constant member. Career 2008–2011: Formation and early years Rachel Taylor and Trevor Kelly met while working at Ted Brown Music Company, a music store in their hometown of Tacoma, Washington. The Scene Aesthetic was an American alternative rock band based in Seattle, Washington. The duo consists of Andrew de Torres (also a member of Danger Radio) and Eric Kimberlin. History Originally from Everett, Washington, the band gained recognition through online outlets MySpace, YouTube, and PureVolume after publishing their first song "Beauty in the Breakdown" in 2006. By 2007 on MySpace, "Beauty in the Breakdown" had nearly nine million plays, and the band had over 140,000 followers. The song also had half a million views by August 2006.
