The Punta Open is a professional tennis tournament played on clay courts. It is currently part of the ATP Challenger Tour. Punta del Este () is a seaside city and peninsula on the Atlantic Coast in the Maldonado Department of southeastern Uruguay. Career A clay court specialist, Markus was a quarter-finalist in the Boys' Singles event at the 1987 French Open and at his best was ranked second in the Argentine junior rankings. Gérard Solvès (born 7 April 1968) is a French tennis player, coach and director of the Tennis Club de Paris. Career Solvès arrived on the scene in 1993, making the quarterfinals in Munich and Gstaad. Franco Davín (; born January 11, 1970) is a tennis coach and a former tennis player from Argentina. Davín won his first ATP-tour match at 15 years, 1 month against Hans Gildemeister in Buenos Aires. He holds the Open Era record for being the youngest player to win a tour level main draw match.
