Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Tony Gunawan (; born 9 April 1975) is an Indonesian-born American former badminton player. He gained several international achievements for Indonesia and later for the United States, including Olympic gold medal and world champion title. Career Gunawan is a former Olympic gold medalist and world champion for Indonesia, and later a world champion for the United States. Claudia Rivero
Claudia Rivero Modenesi (born 28 November 1986 in Lima) is a Peruvian badminton player. She won the bronze medal in the singles and mixed doubles category at the 2007 and the 2011 Pan American Games. Christina Irene Aicardi Cagigao (born 14 January 1986) is a Peruvian badminton player. She competed at the 2007 and 2011 Pan American Games. Maldonado Rodolfo José Ramírez García (born 31 July 1988) is a Guatemalan badminton player and coach. Anna Kathleen Rice (born 19 August 1980) is a Canadian badminton player. She attended Handsworth Secondary School, and completed a B.A. from the University of British Columbia. Claudia Zornoza Roca-Rey (born 12 February 1990) is a Peruvian female badminton player. Victoria Montero (born Victoria Eugenia Montero Enríquez; 25 August 1991) is a Mexican athlete who competes in badminton. Kevin Haroldo Cordón Buezo (born November 28, 1986) is a Guatemalan badminton player. He won two men's singles title at the Pan American Games, four title at the Pan Am Championships (3 in singles and 1 in doubles), and six title at the Central American and Caribbean Games (4 in singles and 2 in doubles).
