Puerto Rico Highway 2
Puerto Rico Highway 2 (PR-2) is a road in Puerto Rico that connects the cities of San Juan and Ponce. At 156 miles (230 km) long, it is Puerto Rico's longest singled-signed highway. The road runs counter-clockwise from San Juan to Ponce. PR-2 runs parallel to the northern coast of Puerto Rico (west of San Juan), then parallel to the west coast from near Aguadilla running south through Mayagüez. Shortly after Mayagüez, the road runs somewhat inland (through Hormigueros, San Germán and Sabana Grande) until it reaches the southern coast of Puerto Rico at Yauco, and continues to run parallel the southern shore as it approaches Ponce from the west. Puerto Rico Highway 5 (PR-5) is a main highway in the San Juan Metropolitan area which connects the cities of Cataño to Bayamón and is being extended and converted to a tollway (it has a toll plaza in Bayamón near PR-2 and PR-174) to access the municipalities of Naranjito and Comerío. It is a short freeway from south Cataño to the business area in Bayamón. It makes intersections with PR-22, PR-6, PR-2 and PR-199, where it ends at this time. The highway will parallel Puerto Rico Highway 167 and will contain the new cable-stayed bridge being built between Bayamón and Naranjito. Puerto Rico Highway 167
Puerto Rico Highway 167 (PR-167) is one of the main highways in the San Juan–Caguas–Guaynabo metropolitan area of Puerto Rico. Highway 167 starts at Puerto Rico Highway 165 in Levittown and goes until Puerto Rico Highway 156 in Comerío. Route description It is two-lane per direction all through Cataño and a vast area of Bayamón, and becomes rural a couple of kilometers before entering Naranjito. During the rainy season this road is risky as there is chance of rock fall and debris onto the road. This occurs mainly due to an increase in the moisture content of the soil, which loosens the suspended rocks adjacent to the highway. It has been proposed to make this road fully parallel to the future tollway PR-5, which will be extended until Comerío. Plaza del Sol is an regional mall located in the city of Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Plaza del Sol is anchored by Caribbean Cinemas, Walmart, H&M, Dave & Buster's and Home Depot. The mall was opened in 1998; it was later acquired in 2005 by DDR Corp. from a $1.15 billion portfolio deal with Caribbean Property Group (CPG) which included the mall. In 2017 DDR Corp. spun off its Puerto Rican shopping centers to RVI ( Retail Value Inc.) due to struggles they had after the Hurricane Maria, making Retail Value Inc. the new owner of the mall at the time. Puerto Rico National Cemetery is a United States national cemetery located in the city of Bayamón, in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. It encompasses of land, and at the end of 2005, had 44,722 interments. Until 2021, it was the only United States National Cemetery in Puerto Rico. A second United States National Cemetery was built in Morovis, Puerto Rico because the cemetery in Bayamón has reached its capacity. History The land in which the cemetery is located was under the jurisdiction of the United States Navy since 1898, when Spain ceded Puerto Rico to the United States as a consequence of the treaties signed which officially ended the Spanish–American War.
