Pudhumai Pithan (1998 Film)
''Pudhumai Pithan'' is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language political satire film directed by S. K. Jeeva. The film stars Parthiban whilst Roja, Devayani, Priya Raman, Anandaraj and Ranjith play supporting roles. The film had musical score by Deva and was released on 20 October 1998. The film opened to mixed reviews and was declared hit at the box office. It was later dubbed into Telugu as 'Oka Votu'. The film was one among 1998 Deepavali releases. Henry is an Indian film producer and film distributor, who heads the studios Carolina Films and Pangaj Productions. History Henry began his film career as a producer through Carolina Films and notably made ''Yavanika'' (1982), a Malayalam film with Mammootty in the lead role. The film performed well commercially and launched the career of Mammootty, while Henry won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film prize. Despite the success, Henry moved on to make Tamil films and produced several films in Madras. Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film ''Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968. He briefly served as the presidium chairman of AIADMK from 2002 to 2003, when he resigned citing ill-health. Biography Pulamaipithan was born in Irugur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 6 October 1935.
