''Three Piece Sculpture: Vertebrae'' (LH 580) is an abstract bronze sculpture by Henry Moore. LH 578 The three part sculpture looks back to his earlier multi-part sculptures of human figures, and also his interlocking works such as ''Two Piece Sculpture No. 7: Pipe'' from 1966. Moore started with a plaster maquette in 1968 (LH 578), with three interlocking elements inspired by bones or flints. Henry Moore
Henry Spencer Moore (30 July 1898 – 31 August 1986) was an English artist. He is best known for his semi- abstract monumental bronze sculptures which are located around the world as public works of art. As well as sculpture, Moore produced many drawings, including a series depicting Londoners sheltering from the Blitz during the Second World War, along with other graphic works on paper. His forms are usually abstractions of the human figure, typically depicting mother-and-child or reclining figures. Moore's works are usually suggestive of the female body, apart from a phase in the 1950s when he sculpted family groups. His forms are generally pierced or contain hollow spaces. Marta Pan
Marta Pan (12 June 1923, Budapest — 12 October 2008, Paris) was a French abstract sculptor of Hungarian origin. Early life Marta Pan was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1923. She studied art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Budapest. Work Pan's sculptures are highly concerned with balance, symmetry, and geometry. She often created her works so that they were site-specific and worked with the surrounding environment. In 1946 Pan moved to Paris, where she met Constantin Brâncuşi and Fernand Léger. In 1952 she married André Wogenscky, who was a studio assistant to Le Corbusier. Her early sculptures were highly influenced by the architecture of Le Corbusier. In 1956, Pan created ''Le Teck'', which consisted of two moveable parts. The choreographer Maurice Béjart later created a ballet, also entitled ''Le Teck'', inspired directly by Pan's sculpture. Confederate War Memorial (Dallas)
The Confederate War Memorial was a -high monument that pays tribute to soldiers and sailors from Texas who served with the Confederate States of America (CSA) during the American Civil War. The monument was dedicated in 1897, following the laying of its cornerstone the previous year. Originally located in Sullivan Park (later renamed Old City Park) near downtown Dallas, Texas, United States, the monument was relocated in 1961 to the nearby Pioneer Park Cemetery in the Convention Center District, next to the Dallas Convention Center and Pioneer Plaza. David Newton (artist)
David Christopher Newton (December 1953 – April 2011) was an American sculptor, painter, printmaker, draftsman, and college art teacher. Newton was born in 1953 in Oakland, California. He lived and worked in California, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and North Carolina with his wife Suzanne McBride Newton. He died in 2011 from colon and liver cancer. Art career and education Newton began studying painting and drawing in the 1970s with Scott Halem (who was a former student of artist Frank Herbert Mason) in San Francisco. Newton moved to New York City in 1978 to study painting and drawing in the studio of Frank Herbert Mason at the Art Students League of New York. Cityplace/Uptown station (formerly Cityplace station) is a DART Light Rail station located in Dallas, Texas. It is located beneath North Central Expressway ( US 75) at Haskell Avenue in the Cityplace district.
