''Psi-5 Trading Company'' (also rendered as ''Psi 5 Trading Company'', ''PsiΨ5 Trading Company'', ''Psi5 Trading Company'' and ''PSI-5 Trading Company'') is a 1985 space trading game, one of the first games published by fledgling video game developer and publisher Accolade. The game was released the Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, IBM PC, and ZX Spectrum. Description Setup The player selects the crew to man the ship. Each ship department has various candidates, including aliens and robots. Each candidate is described in a short profile. The candidates differ in abilities, for example, in their degree of autonomy, efficiency, foresight for possible imminent problems, obedience, stress tolerance, physical vulnerability and teamwork. A single "best team" does not exist, since every candidate has advantages and disadvantages. Distinctive Software Inc. (''DSI'') was a Canadian video game developer established in Burnaby, British Columbia, by Don Mattrick and Jeff Sember after their success with the game ''Evolution''. Mattrick (age 17) and Jeff Sember approached Sydney Development Corporation, who agreed to publish ''Evolution'' in 1982. Distinctive Software was the predecessor to EA Canada. ''Computer Gaming World'' (CGW) was an American computer game magazine published between 1981 and 2006. One of the few magazines of the era to survive the video game crash of 1983, it was sold to Ziff Davis in 1993. It expanded greatly through the 1990s and became one of the largest dedicated video game magazines, reaching around 500 pages by 1997. ''Eagle'' was a British children's comics periodical, first published from 1950 to 1969, and then in a relaunched format from 1982 to 1994. It was founded by Marcus Morris, an Anglican vicar from Lancashire. Morris edited a Southport parish magazine called ''The Anvil'', but felt that the church was not communicating its message effectively.
