''Pseudeuophrys'' is a genus of Salticidae, jumping spiders that was first described by Friedrich Dahl in 1912. The name is a combination of the Ancient Greek "wikt:ψευδής#Ancient_Greek, pseudo-" (), meaning "false", and the salticid genus ''Euophrys''. It was briefly synonymized with ''Euophrys'', but this decision was later reversed. Friedrich Dahl
Karl Friedrich Theodor Dahl (June 24, 1856 in Rosenhofer Brök north of Dahme, Holstein – June 29, 1929 in Greifswald) was a German zoologist, and in particular an arachnologist. The son of a farmer, Dahl studied at the universities of Leipzig, Freiburg, Berlin and Kiel. His dissertation (1884) was "''Beiträge zur Kenntnis des Baus und der Funktion der Insektenbeine''". He became a ''Privatdozent'' in 1887; with a habilitation thesis "''Ueber die Cytheriden der westlichen Ostsee''". Around this time he traveled to the Baltic states and (1896–1897) to the Bismarck Archipelago near New Guinea. He was also interested in biogeography. On April 1, 1898 Dahl became curator of arachnids at the '' Museum für Naturkunde'' in Berlin, where he worked under his former teacher, the then museum director Karl Möbius. Octavius Pickard-Cambridge
Octavius Pickard-Cambridge Fellow of the Royal Society, FRS (3 November 1828 – 9 March 1917) was an England, English clergyman and zoologist. He was a keen arachnologist who described and named more than 900 species of spider. Life and work Pickard-Cambridge was born in Bloxworth rectory, Dorset, the fifth son of Rev. George Pickard, rector and squire of Bloxworth: the family changed its name to Pickard-Cambridge in 1848 after receiving the property left behind by a relative, Charles Owen Cambridge, of Whitminster House in Gloucestershire. Octavius was tutored at home by the poet William Barnes, after failing to receive admission to Winchester College. He also learned to play the violin from Sidney Smith.
