Prudencio Cardona
Prudencio Cardona (December 22, 1951 – August 4, 2019) was a Colombian professional boxer who was world flyweight champion. He represented his native country at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany. He is the older brother of former super bantamweight world champion, Ricardo Cardona. Professional boxing career Prudencio Cardona made his professional boxing debut on November 2, 1973 defeating Luis Ramos by a four-round decision in Barranquilla, Colombia. Twenty two days later, Cardona earned his first knockout win, knocking out Humberto Ortega in four rounds at Barranquilla. Cardona's first seven fights were in Barranquilla; he won five of these bouts by knockout. On September 29, 1974, Cardona fought away from Barranquilla for the first time, losing his tag as an undefeated fighter when he dropped an eight-round decision to Henry Diaz in Cartagena. Prudencio Norales Martínez (born 20 April 1956) is a retired Honduran football midfielder who played for Honduras in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Club career Nicknamed ''Tecate'', Norales also played for Olimpia. He is one of the few players who scored four goals in a Honduran league game, against Atlético Portuario in October 1979. Prudencio de Orobio Y Basterra (–?) was a Spanish merchant, landowner and soldier who served as the Interim Governor of Texas between 1737 and 1740–41 and Mayor of Parras de la Fuente, in Coahuila (in modern Mexico). Early life Initially, Orobio was owner of several Haciendas (estates) in Saltillo (in present Mexico), particularly those of Santa María and Mesillas, although he delivered them to a Captain of the Spanish army, Juan de Tameo, in 1707, "with ten small livestock sites, two major cattle herds and ten of Cavalry". Orobio joined the Spanish Army during his youth, where he was promoted to Coronel. Prudencio Sánchez Fernández, commonly known as Pruden (1 September 1916 – 25 February 1998) was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for Atlético Madrid (then known as Atlético Aviación) and Real Madrid. He was La Liga's top scorer in 1940–41 with Atlético, in which he was the architect of the entity's second league title that same year. Fray Prudencio de Sandoval (1553–1620) was a Spanish historian and Benedictine monk, the Bishop of Tuy from 1608 to 1612 and Bishop of Pamplona thereafter until his death. De Sandoval was born in Valladolid. The festival of San Prudencio, in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava, Spain, is held around the saint's feast day (28 April). Due to its popularity, the city organizes a number of activities. The festival begins on 27 April in Plaza de la Diputación, where a stage is prepared for the traditional Basque dance groups.
