(First Sounds of the Independence Anthem), also known as (Independence Anthem), is painting by Augusto Bracet. Pedro Américo
Pedro Américo de Figueiredo e Melo (29 April 1843 – 7 October 1905) was a Brazilian novelist, poet, scientist, art theorist, essayist, philosopher, politician and professor, but is best remembered as one of the most important academic painters in Brazil, leaving works of national impact. From an early age he showed an inclination towards the arts, being considered a child prodigy. At a very young age, he participated as a draftsman on an expedition of naturalists through the Brazilian northeast, and received government support to study at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts. The 1888 painting ''Independence or Death'' (''Independência ou Morte'' in Portuguese), also known as the ''Cry of Ipiranga'' (''Grito do Ipiranga'' in the original), is the main artwork representing the proclamation of the Brazilian independence. Author Pedro Américo was born in 1843, in the Paraíba Province of Brazil, more specifically in the now municipality of Areia, at the time the small town of ''Brejo d'Areia''. In European academic traditions, fine art is developed primarily for aesthetics or creative expression, distinguishing it from decorative art or applied art, which also has to serve some practical function, such as pottery or most metalwork. Pedro Paulo Bruno (October 14, 1888 – February 2, 1949) was a Brazilian painter, singer, poet, and landscaper of Italian origin. His best known work is the 1918 painting ''A Pátria'' (''Fatherland''), which depicts the Brazilian flag being embroidered by a family. Georgina De Albuquerque
Georgina de Albuquerque (February 4, 1885 – August 29, 1962) was a Brazilian Impressionist painter and teacher. She was known for her interest in female subjects. Her husband Lucílio was a noted painter in his own right and the two are strongly associated with each other. Early life De Albuquerque was born Georgina de Moura Andrade on February 4, 1885, in Taubaté, São Paulo. She began her studies in painting at the age of 15 in 1900 in her native Taubaté. Brazilian Independence
The Independence of Brazil comprised a series of political and military events that led to the independence of the Kingdom of Brazil from the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves as the Brazilian Empire. Most of the events occurred in Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo between 1821–1824. It is celebrated on 7 September, although there is a controversy whether the real independence happened after the Siege of Salvador on July 2 of 1823 in Salvador, Bahia where the independence war was fought.
