Beatrix Of The Netherlands
Beatrix (Beatrix Wilhelmina Armgard, ; born 31 January 1938) is a member of the Dutch royal house who reigned as Queen of the Netherlands from 1980 until her abdication in 2013. Beatrix is the eldest daughter of Queen Juliana and her husband, Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld. Upon her mother's accession in 1948, she became heir presumptive. Beatrix attended a public primary school in Canada during World War II, and then finished her primary and secondary education in the Netherlands in the post-war period. In 1961, she received her law degree from Leiden University. In 1966, Beatrix married Claus von Amsberg, a German diplomat, with whom she had three children. William Marlin
William Marlin (born 21 October 1950) is a Sint Maarten politician who served as the 3rd Prime Minister of Sint Maarten from 2015 to 2017. Marlin was the leader of the National Alliance, and was the leader of the First and Second Marlin cabinet. Resignation In November 2017, a motion of no confidence against Marlin and some other ministers was accepted in Parliament, due to Marlin's position in the negotiation with the Dutch government about anti fraud measures and aid funds in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. While Marlin did tender the resignation of the cabinet, he refused to immediately step aside after a second motion of no confidence was accepted, and an instruction by the Dutch Kingdom Council of Ministers was required to force Marlin out while the rest of the cabinet would continue as caretaker cabinet until the elections. Gumbs Cabinet
The Gumbs cabinet was a coalition cabinet in Sint Maarten formed by the United People's Party and independent members of Parliament Cornelius de Weever and Leona Marlin-Romeo. The cabinet succeeded the Third Wescot-Williams cabinet following the 2014 general elections, and was installed by Governor Eugene Holiday on 19 December 2014. It fell on 30 September following a vote of non-confidence with 3 coalition party members voting in favour. 2014 Sint Maarten General Election
General elections were held in Sint Maarten on 29 August 2014. They were the first elections since Sint Maarten became a constituent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 2010, at which point the Island Council became the Estates. The result was a victory for the United People's Party, which won seven of the 15 seats in the Estates. Marcel Faustiano Augustin Gumbs (born 26 February 1953) is a Sint Maarten politician who served as the 2nd Prime Minister of Sint Maarten from 2014 to 2015. He was selected as Prime Minister in the coalition agreement between the United People's Party and the independent Members Parliament Cornelius de Weever and Leona Marlin-Romeo.
