Gumbs Cabinet
The Gumbs cabinet was a coalition cabinet in Sint Maarten formed by the United People's Party and independent members of Parliament Cornelius de Weever and Leona Marlin-Romeo. The cabinet succeeded the Third Wescot-Williams cabinet following the 2014 general elections, and was installed by Governor Eugene Holiday on 19 December 2014. It fell on 30 September following a vote of non-confidence with 3 coalition party members voting in favour. Marcel Gumbs
Marcel Faustiano Augustin Gumbs (born 26 February 1953) is a Sint Maarten politician who served as the 2nd Prime Minister of Sint Maarten from 2014 to 2015. He was selected as Prime Minister in the coalition agreement between the United People's Party and the independent Members Parliament Cornelius de Weever and Leona Marlin-Romeo. Prior to becoming Prime Minister he served as a member on the Sint Maarten Council of Advise. __TOC__ Early life Marcel Gumbs was born on 26 February 1953 on Curaçao. As a child Gumbs attended the St. Joseph School in Sint Maarten. Political career He began his career in 1983, as an observer in the Parliament of the Netherlands Antilles for the Democratic Party (DP). In that same year, he postulated himself for the Island Council election but did not obtain enough votes to be elected. Rafael A. Boasman (Aruba, born 5 June 1953) was Prime Minister of Sint Maarten from 24 November 2017 to 15 January 2018. From 20 December 2016 to 15 January 2018, Boasman was also the Minister of Justice. He was also Minister of Healthcare, Social Development, and Labor from 7 September 2015 to 19 November 2015 and Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications from 20 December 2016 to 4 April 2017.
