Priit Juho Vesilind (born 4 January 1943) is an Estonian and American senior writer and photojournalist of '' National Geographic'' magazine and an author of nonfiction. Early life and education Vesilind was born in Tallinn. In 1944, when he was one and a half, his mother Aino took him and his brother Aarne and fled to Czechoslovakia. The family was fleeing the Soviet occupation of his homeland during World War II. Later, his father Paul Eduard Vesilind rejoined his wife and children and they spent the next five years after the war in displaced persons camps in Geislingen, West Germany. In 1949 the family emigrated to the United States of America. He spent his childhood in Beaver, a small town in Western Pennsylvania. Priit Toobal
Priit Toobal (born 1 November 1983, in Suure-Jaani) is an Estonian former politician of the Estonian Centre Party. He was the Secretary General of the party from 2007 until 2015, the party's head officer in 2015, and former member of the Riigikogu between 2011 and 2015 representing the Järva County and Viljandi County constituency. In October 2014, Toobal and Lauri Laasi were found guilty of instigating unauthorized surveillance after they had encouraged a third party to hack the email account of Hannes Rumm. Harju County Court gave Toobal a one-year suspended sentence with three years probation. Toobal and Laasi both appealed. The case was taken to the Supreme Court, which upheld the previously given sentence in November 2015. Toobal resigned from the parliament two days before the verdict. Priit Tomson
Priit Tomson (November 3, 1942, Tallinn, 193 cm) is a retired Estonian professional basketball player, who competed for the Soviet Union. He is the only Estonian basketball player who has won two gold medals at the World Championship. Tomson is a three-time Eurobasket champion with the Soviet Union national basketball team. He was a member of the youth and student teams of the Soviet Union in 1963–65 and the senior team in 1966–74 as a small forward. The highest-scoring player in the Estonian National Team throughout his long career.He was described as a basketball aristocrat, who was characterised by skilful operating in picking up offensive rebounds and accurate throwing from central positions and was often tasked with neutralising the opponents’ most dangerous players.
