Pretoria Callies Football Club, also known as Bantu Callies or Pretoria Bantu Callies is a South African professional soccer club based in Pretoria, Gauteng, who currently play in the National First Division. History The club was founded in 1898, and were founder members of the National Professional Soccer League, later playing in the National Soccer League. Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium
Lucas "Masterpieces" Moripe Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium having a capacity of 28,900 and is located in Atteridgeville, a township (South Africa) of Pretoria, South Africa. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as part-time home stadium of Premier Soccer League clubs Supersport United and Mamelodi Sundowns who also use the Loftus Versfeld Stadium. The stadium was named after former local soccer player Lucas Moripe. Until 2010 the stadium was known as Super Stadium. Sammy Troughton
Samuel Edward Troughton (born 27 March 1964 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland) is a Northern Irish former footballer who played as a forward and now a coach. Playing career Club Troughton played for Glentoran and Wolverhampton Wanderers before coming to South Africa in 1985 to play for Jomo Cosmos, Mamelodi Sundowns and then Orlando Pirates. He was popularly known as "Special Branch" during his playing days in South Africa. In 1986, he briefly played for Crusaders, playing two league games in two days against Linfield and Glentoran (scoring in the latter) in December 1986. Management career After retiring from football, Troughton coached mainly lower league sides like Arcadia Shepherds, Pretoria University and Durban Stars. He also had a short stint as Orlando Pirates coach in 1994 and worked as an assistant coach for Free State Stars. National First Division
The National First Division (NFD), officially known as the Motsepe Foundation Championship for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest league of South African club association football, football after the South African Premier Division. Both the NFD and South African Premier Division are organised by the Premier Soccer League. Structure and rules Seasons 2007–2011 The restructured NFD was divided into two streams, one inland and another coastal – each of which consisted of 8 teams. The winners of the two streams played against each other in a 'final' at the end of the season – the winner of which was promoted to the PSL. 2020–21 SAFA Second Division
The 2020–21 SAFA Second Division (known as the ABC Motsepe League for sponsorship reasons) was the 23rd season of the SAFA Second Division, the third tier for South African association football clubs, since its establishment in 1998. The National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) was a South African association football league that existed between 1971 and 1995. Atteridgeville
Atteridgeville is a township located to the west of Pretoria, South Africa. It is located to the east of Saulsville, to the west of West Park; to the north of Laudium and to the south of Lotus Gardens. The settlement was established in 1939, and is named after Mrs MP Atteridge, chairwoman of the Committee for Non-European Affairs on the Pretoria City Council at the time.
