Prestreljenik
Mount Prestreljenik ( it, Monte Forato) is a mountain in the western range of the Julian Alps, in the Tolmin region of Slovenia on the Italian–Slovenian border. It is the second-highest peak in the central part of the Kanin group. Prestreljenik is known for the Window (''Okno''), an erosion-arch feature located on its western ridge. This aperture is the source of both of the mountain's local endonyms; ''Prestreljenik'' means 'shot-through' in Slovene, and ''Forato'' is Italian for 'pierced' The peak is accessible via the eastern ridge from the Petar Skalar Lodge, or by a different route via either Bovec or (crossing the Italian border) Sella Nevea and the Celso Gilberti Chalet. The Julian Alps ( sl, Julijske Alpe, it, Alpi Giulie, , ) are a mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps that stretch from northeastern Italy to Slovenia, where they rise to 2,864 m at Mount Triglav, the highest peak in Slovenia. Bovec
Bovec ( or ; , german: Flitsch, fur, Plèz) is a town in the Littoral region in northwestern Slovenia, close to the border with Italy. It is the central settlement of the Municipality of Bovec. Sella Nevea ( fur, Nevee, german: Neveasattel, sl, Na Žlebeh), at an altitude of , is a high mountain pass in the Julian Alps, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northeast Italy. Sella Nevea also lends its name to a ''frazione'' of the Chiusaforte municipality and the nearby Kanin-Sella Nevea Ski Resort. Okno ( rus, Окно meaning window) is a Russian space surveillance station located in Nurak in Tajikistan. It is run by the Russian Space Forces and is part of the Centre for Outer Space Monitoring. It is located above sea level in the Sanglok mountains, an area with clear night skies. Another facility, Okno-S, is in the Russian Far East. The facility consists of a number of telescopes in domes and is similar to the US GEODSS system. It is designed for the detection and analysis of space objects such as satellites. Triglav National Park
Triglav National Park (TNP) ( sl, Triglavski narodni park) is the only national park in Slovenia. It was established in its modern form in 1981 and is located in the northwestern part of the country, respectively the southeastern part of the Alpine massif. Mount Triglav, the highest peak of the Julian Alps, stands almost in the middle of the national park.
