Preston Stone
Preston Stone (born October 16, 2001) is an American football quarterback who plays for the SMU Mustangs. Early life Stone was born in Dallas, Texas and attended Parish Episcopal School. In Stone's high school career he completed 902 passes of his 1,376 pass attempts for 13,178 yards, and 148 touchdowns, to 21 interceptions. Stone also rushed for 2,172 yards and 34 touchdowns. Coming out of high school, Stone was rated a four-star recruit by ESPN and Rivals.com, ranking at 121st on the ESPN 300. Stone would decide to commit to play college football for SMU. Stone also received offers from schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Arizona, and Arizona State. College career In Stone's first season in 2021, he completed three out of his seven passing attempts for 24 yards. Stone was selected to the American's all-academic team for the 2021–22 school year. The SMU Mustangs football program is a college football team representing Southern Methodist University (SMU) in University Park in Dallas County, Texas. The team competes in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of the American Athletic Conference (The American). History Early history (1915–1917) In June 1915, Ray Morrison became SMU's football, baseball, basketball, and track coach, in addition to being a math instructor. The football team began as a member of the Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association, playing at Armstrong Field. The first game played by SMU's football team was a 13–2 victory over Hendrix College. After winning two games in a span of two seasons, Morrison left SMU for Fort Oglethorpe upon the United States’ entry into World War I. The 2023 Navy Midshipmen football team represented the United States Naval Academy in the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season.
