The President pro tempore of the Senate of Virginia is a Virginia constitutional office whose role is to serve as the presiding officer of the Senate of Virginia in the absence of the Lieutenant Governor. The office is established in Article IV, Section 7 of the Constitution of Virginia. Virginia's 30th Senate District
Virginia's 30th Senate district is one of 40 districts in the Senate of Virginia. It has been represented by Democrat Adam Ebbin since 2012, succeeding retiring fellow Democrat Patsy Ticer. Geography District 30 is located directly on the Potomac River, including most of Alexandria as well as smaller parts of Arlington County and Fairfax County such as Rose Hill, Huntington, Fort Hunt and Mount Vernon.
