Premià De Mar
Premià de Mar () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the coast between El Masnou and Vilassar de Mar, to the north-east of Barcelona. The town is both a tourist centre and a dormitory town for Barcelona. Like almost all municipalities of Maresme, Premià de Mar has been historically very well connected with the rest of the ''comarca'' and with Barcelona thanks to old ''Camí Ral'' (Royal Way) (actual N-II main road) and railroad (Barcelona-Mataró railroad route (1848) was the first to be constructed in all the Iberian Peninsula). Communications have been enhanced in recent years with the construction (1969) of the C-32's Barcelona-Mataró section, also the first ''autopista'' (highway) to be constructed in all the Iberian Peninsula. Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Each municipality typically represents one significant urban settlement, of any size from village to city, with its surrounding land. This is not always the case, though. El Masnou
El Masnou (; ) is a municipality in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the coast between Montgat and Premià de Mar, to the north-east of the city of Barcelona, in the ''comarca'' (county) of el Maresme. The town is both a tourist centre and a dormitory town in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. The main N-II road and a RENFE railway line run through the town, while a local road links it with the A-19 ''autopista'' at Alella. Baroque (architecture)
Baroque architecture is a highly decorative and theatrical style which appeared in Italy in the early 17th century and gradually spread across Europe. It was originally introduced by the Catholic Church, particularly by the Jesuits, as a means to combat the Reformation and the Protestant church with a new architecture that inspired surprise and awe. It reached its peak in the High Baroque (1625–1675), when it was used in churches and palaces in Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Bavaria and Austria. In the Late Baroque period (1675–1750), it reached as far as Russia and the Spanish and Portuguese colonies in Latin America. ''Modernisme'' (, Catalan for "modernism"), also known as Catalan modernism and Catalan art nouveau, is the historiographic denomination given to an art and literature movement associated with the search of a new entitlement of Catalan culture, one of the most predominant cultures within Spain. C-32 Highway (Spain)
C-32 is a primary highway in Catalonia, Spain. It was created in 2004 by merging three sections of existing ''autopistas'' and ''autovías''. This re-organisation was part of a renaming of primary highways managed by the Generalitat de Catalunya. According to this new denomination, the first number (C-32) indicates that is a southwest-northeast highway (parallel to the Mediterranean Sea coastline), while the second number (C-32) indicates that is the second-closest to the Mediterranean Sea. The Barcelona-Mataró's section of the former A-19 (now renamed to C-31 and C-32) was the first ''autopista'' ever in Spain (1969). Railroad
Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. Carretera Nacional N-II
N-II was the former name for the Route Nacional from Madrid to Barcelona and France. According to the new Spanish roads nomenclature, the sections which have been already enhanced and upgraded to ''autovía'' have been recently renamed to A-2, whereas the sections still not upgraded (Zaragoza-Fraga and Barcelona- French border sections) keep the old name N-II. At the French border, near La Jonquera, the route links to the French N9. Most of the traffic formerly carried by the road now takes the A-7 and A-2 ''autovía''. The road is still in the process of being fully dualled but already by-passes the major towns of Girona and Figueres.
