Premier Padmini
The Premier Padmini was a four-seat saloon manufactured in India from 1964 to 2001 by Premier Automobiles Limited, a division of the Walchand Group, under license from Fiat and marketed initially as the ''Fiat 1100 Delight'' — and from 1974 as the ''Premier Padmini''. The Padmini's primary competitors in the Indian market were the Hindustan Ambassador and Standard Herald. This famous car ruled the Indian car market and its popularity peaked during 1970s and 80s. Many celebrities of the time including Rajnikanth, Mammootty, Aamir Khan owned a Premier Padmini during its prime years. Known colloquially as the ''Pad'', or ''Fiat'' (since the Padmini was originally a Fiat car), the Padmini is named after a 14th-century Rajput princess. Premier Ltd. (formerly known as The Premier Automobiles Limited) was an Indian automotive manufacturer company, based in Mumbai, India. The company is owned by the Walchand Group. Walchand Hirachand established the Premier Automobiles Ltd.(PAL) in 1944 with the encouragement and support of Sir. M. Visvesvaraya. The company was founded in 1903 as Walchand-Phatak Co. Rani Padmini
Padmini, also known as Padmavati, was a 13th–14th century Rani (queen) of the Kingdom of Mewar, Mewar kingdom of present-day India. Several medieval texts mention her, although these versions are disparate and many modern historians question the extent of overall authenticity. The Jayasi text describes her story as follows: Padmavati was an exceptionally beautiful princess of the Sinhala Kingdom, Sinhalese kingdom (in Sri Lanka). Ratnasimha, Ratan Sen, the Rajput ruler of Chittor Fort, heard about her beauty from a talking parrot named Hiraman. Compressed natural gas (CNG) is a fuel gas mainly composed of methane (CH4), compressed to less than 1% of the volume it occupies at standard atmospheric pressure. Solex is a French manufacturer of carburetors and the powered bicycle VéloSoleX. Solex carburetors were used by many European automobile companies and were licensed to Japanese maker Mikuni.
