Praça das Esculturas (Portuguese: ''Sculpture Square''), also known as O Jardim das Esculturas ou Praça das Esculturas de Vaccarini, is a sculpture park in Altinópolis, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The park houses the works of the Italian-Brazilian artist Bassano Vaccarini (1914 - 2002). Praça das Esculturas, which opened in 1992, covers at the highest point of the city. Altinópolis
Altinópolis is a Brazilian municipality in the state of São Paulo. The population is 16,203 (2020 est.) in an area of 929 km². The city is known for its sights, like the Praça das Esculturas, and its wide variety of caves and waterfalls. Tourism Altinópolis has five rivers and 35 waterfalls. One of them is 72 meters high. There are eight caves regularly visited by tourist, highlighted by the Itambé Cave with a façade of 28 meters and some 350 meters of galleries. The Department of Tourism gives visitors the necessary information and support. The ranking of the city was high in the last Hall of São Paulo Tourism. Brazilian Sculpture
The roots of Brazilian sculpture have been traced back to the late 16th century, emerging soon after the first settlements in the newly discovered land. Through the following century, most of the sculpture in Brazil was brought from Portugal and displayed Baroque features. The Baroque style would flourish within the religious culture of the country and would remain predominant until the first decades of the 19th century. In the 19th century, sculptural activity decreased, but it later revived when both the government and the public took a new interest in the art.
