Prayag Chauhan (born 24 February 1997) is an Indian amateur boxer. He won a gold medal in 2013 at the Asian junior boxing championship held in Kazakhstan and a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games 2015. Early life Prayag Chauhan was born on 24 February 1997 in Delhi. His father Mahesh Chauhan is a Karate player and mother Preeti is a Kabaddi player. Light welterweight, also known as junior welterweight or super lightweight, is a weight class in combat sports. Amateur boxing is a variant of boxing practiced at the collegiate level, at the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games, as well as many associations. Amateur boxing bouts are short in duration, comprising three rounds of three minutes in men, and four rounds of two minutes in women, each with a one-minute interval between rounds. Men's senior bouts changed in format from four two-minute rounds to three three-minute rounds on January 1, 2009. The Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) is an international multi-sport event organized by the Commonwealth Games Federation. 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games
The 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games, officially known as the V Commonwealth Youth Games, and commonly known as Samoa 2015, was the fifth Commonwealth Youth Games which started in the year 2000. It was held from 5 to 11 September, 2015 in Apia, the capital of Samoa. Samoa were the only bidders for the Games. All events took place in the capital city, Apia. The opening and closing ceremonies were held in Apia Park, which also hosted the athletics, rugby and tennis competitions.
