Pray for Rain is a San Francisco, California-based music production company and recording group specialising in film soundtracks, led by St. Louis, Missouri musician Dan Wool. Past members of Pray for Rain include Gary Brown, Paul Trupin, and James Woody. Originally a performing post-punk band active in San Francisco in the 1980s and 1990s, Pray for Rain transitioned to being a soundtrack-collective after scoring the film ''Sid and Nancy''. Among their many soundtracks are the scores to several Alex Cox films, including ''Sid and Nancy'', '' Straight to Hell'', '' The Winner'', ''Death and the Compass'', and ''Three Businessmen''. PFR (band)
PFR is a Christian rock group from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Although the group initially disbanded in 1997, they periodically reunited from 2001 to 2013 and recorded two albums in that time. They reunited again in 2022 for two shows near Minneapolis with another show scheduled in Nashville in March 2023. Their name was originally "Pray for Rain", but was changed to "PFR" to avoid a conflict with another musical group. History PFR was founded in 1989 as the Joel Hanson Band by Joel Hanson, who was a camp counselor at Camp Shamineau, a Christian youth camp in Minnesota. In 1991, the band, then known as Inside Out, was signed to Brown Bannister, Brown Bannister's newly founded Vireo Records. After signing, Patrick Andrew suggested the band change the name to "Pray for Rain" after a line from a poem. Tim Feehan
Tim Feehan (born April 27, 1957 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, producer, mix master and Los Angeles area studio owner. Career Tim Feehan graduated from the University of Alberta in 1980 and began his recording/songwriting career quite accidentally when his college band " Footloose" was asked by a local studio owner to record a song he'd written. That song, "Leaving for Maui", was a Top Ten hit in Hawaii. In 1986, Feehan entered a songwriting contest sponsored by producer David Foster (Celine Dion, Whitney Houston) taking first place and signed with Scotti Bros/CBS in Los Angeles where he relocated later that year. The self-titled debut album ''Tim Feehan'' was released in 1987 and gained five A.R.I.A. (Alberta Recording Industry Association) awards including "Best Pop Performance" and "Producer of the Year". Pure Bathing Culture
Pure Bathing Culture is an American indie pop band from Portland, Oregon, United States. Career The group's members, Sarah Versprille and Daniel Hindman, first met while college students in New Jersey, they lived in Brooklyn, New York and both moved to Portland, Oregon in 2011, playing in the group Vetiver. Around 2012 they began playing live shows, and released an EP produced by Richard Swift in 2012 on Father/Daughter Records. The band toured in the US opening for Caveman and Father John Misty. The band released its first album on Partisan Records in 2013. The album was highlighted by the single, "Pendulum", which some critics likened in style to Fleetwood Mac. One of the tracks, "Scotty", drew its lyrics and melody in part from the 1980 hit single " Into the Night" by Benny Mardones. ''Heligoland'' is the fifth studio album by English electronic music duo Massive Attack, released on 8 February 2010 by Virgin Records. Warren Spahn
Warren Edward Spahn (April 23, 1921 – November 24, 2003) was an American professional baseball pitcher who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). A left-handed pitcher, Spahn played in 1942 and then from 1946 until 1965, most notably for the Boston Braves, who became the Milwaukee Braves after the team moved west before the season. His baseball career was interrupted by his military service in the United States Army during World War II. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Spahn attended South Park High School. With 363 career wins, Spahn holds the major league record for a left-handed pitcher, and has the most by a pitcher who played his entire career in the post-1920 live-ball era. He was a 17-time All-Star who won 20 games or more in 13 seasons, including a 23–7 win–loss record when he was age 42.
