''Prathama Ushakirana'' ( kn, ಪ್ರಥಮ ಉಷಾಕಿರಣ; English: ''The First Morning Ray'') is a 1990 Indian Kannada language, Kannada drama film, fiction drama film directed by Suresh Heblikar, written by Ashok Pai and produced under Manasa Arts. Besides Heblikar in the lead, the film features Geetha (actress), Geetha, Girish Karnad, Pramila Joshai and Vanitha Vasu in the pivotal roles. The film's music was composed by Vijaya Bhaskar and the cinematography was by P. Rajan. The film dealt with child psychiatry as the main theme and met with critical appraise and went on to win several awards at the Karnataka State Film Awards 1989-90 and the 38th Filmfare Awards South. Besides winning awards, the film was screened at various international film festivals. Karnataka State Film Awards
Karnataka State Film Awards are the most notable and prestigious film awards given for Kannada film industry in Karnataka, India. These are considered the highest awards for Kannada language films. They are given annually by the Government of Karnataka to honor the best talent and to provide encouragement and incentive to the Kannada film industry. Mimicry Dayanand is an Indian Impressionist (entertainment), impressionist, Stand-up comedy, stand-up comedian, actor and television presenter from the Karnataka state of India. He is renowned for his impression of politicians and film actors of Karnataka. Dayanand has featured in many comedy albums and has presented a television show, ''Kachaguli'' that aired on Colors Kannada, ETV Kannada. Ashok Pai
K. A. Ashok Pai (30 December 1946 – 29 September 2016) was an Indian psychiatrist, writer and film producer based in Shimoga. He was the chairman of Karnataka Mental Health Taskforce. Ashok Pai started the Manasa Nursing Home and Manasa Educational Foundation in Shimoga. He died of cardiac arrest on 29 September 2016.
