Cinema Of Karnataka
Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film ''Sati Sulochana'' directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. The film was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded ''South India Movietone'' in Bangalore. Major literary works have been adapted to the Kannada screen such as B. V. ''Deveeri'' is a 1999 Kannada language film based on the novel ''Akka'' by noted Kannada writer P. Lankesh. The novel was adapted for the film by his daughter Kavitha Lankesh. Puneeth Rajkumar (17 March 1975 – 29 October 2021), colloquially known as Appu, was an Indian actor, playback singer, television presenter, and producer, who worked in Kannada cinema. Parameshi Prema Prasanga
''Parameshi Prema Prasanga'' is a 1985 Indian Kannada language film, directed by and starring Ramesh Bhat, with Arundhati Nag, Master Manjunath, Ananth Nag, Shankar Nag and C. R. Simha. Master Manjunath
Manjunath Nayaker is an Indian actor and public relations professional. He is better known by his screen name Master Manjunath and "Swamy" for his lead role in the television series '' Malgudi Days'' (1987) directed by Shankar Nag and in its film version, ''Swami And Friends''. Madhva
Madhvacharya (; ; CE 1199-1278 or CE 1238–1317), sometimes anglicised as Madhva Acharya, and also known as Purna Prajna () and Ānanda Tīrtha, was an Indian philosopher, theologian and the chief proponent of the '' Dvaita'' (dualism) school of Vedanta. Madhva called his philosophy ''Tattvavāda'' meaning "arguments from a realist viewpoint". Madhvacharya was born on the west coast of Karnataka state in 13th-century India. As a teenager, he became a Sanyasi (monk) joining Brahma-sampradaya guru Achyutapreksha, of the Ekadandi order. Vijay Raghavendra is an Indian actor who appears predominantly in Kannada films. Referred to popularly as " Chinnari Mutha", Vijay is the son of producer S. A. Chinne Gowda and nephew of actor Dr.Rajkumar.
