Prafulla Chandra Pant
Prafulla Chandra Pant (born 30 August 1952) is an Indian retired judge and author who served as a judge of the Supreme Court of India from 2014 to 2017. He also served as a member of the National Human Rights Commission of India from 2019 to 2021. Prior to his appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court of India, he had previously served as Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court at Shillong. He is one of the very few judges to have reached the apex court who joined judicial service as a civil judge junior division (Munsiff). He was the first jurist from Uttarakhand to serve as a judge of Supreme Court of India. He was also the first Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court to be elevated as Judge, Supreme Court of India. Uma Nath Singh (born 15 January 1954) is an Indian Judge and former Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court. Career Singh passed from Ewing Christian College and completed a law degree from the Allahabad University in 1980. He started practice in Delhi High Court as well as in the Supreme Court of India. He also worked as Central Government advocate in Bhopal Gas Leak Disaster case. Singh became an Additional Judge in Madhya Pradesh High Court on 22 October 2001. Raj Narain
Raj Narain (23 November 1917 – 31 December 1986) was an Indian freedom fighter and politician. He won in a famous electoral malpractice case against the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, which led to her disqualification and imposition of Emergency in India in 1975. He defeated Indira Gandhi during the 1977 Lok Sabha elections. Allahabad High Court
Allahabad High Court, also known as High Court of Judicature at Allahabad is the high court based in Prayagraj that has jurisdiction over the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was established on 17 March 1866, making it one of the oldest high courts to be established in India. History Prayagraj became the seat of Government of North-Western Provinces and a High Court was established in 1834 but was shifted to Agra within a year. In 1875 it shifted back to Prayagraj. The former High Court was located at the Accountant General's office at the University of Allahabad complex. The Combined Defence Services Examination (abbreviated as CDS Exam) is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. Services Selection Board (SSB) is an organization that assesses the candidates for becoming officers into the Indian Armed Forces. The board evaluates the suitability of the candidate for becoming an officer using a standardized protocol of evaluation system which constitutes personality, intelligence tests, and interviews. The tests are of both types i.e. written and practical task-based. An SSB comprises the panel of assessors, who are officers in the Indian Armed Forces and having their specialization as Psychologist, GTO (Group Task Officer), and Interviewing Officer. The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the joint Military, defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services i.e. the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force train together before they go on to respective service academy for further pre-commission training.
