Prabhu Jagadbandhu
Prabhu Jagadbandhu was a religious leader of Bengal. He spent much of his life meditating and preaching in the Sri Angan ashram in Faridpur, British India (present day Bangladesh). His teachings inspired the founding of a revival movement within Bengal Vaishnavism in the last decade of the 19th century and later the Mahanam Sampraday denomination. His devotees believe that he is Lord Sri Krishna and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Life and teachings Prabhu Jagatbandhu was born on 28 April 1871 in Dahapara, Murshidabad or Gobindapur, Faridpur, Bengal Presidency, British India to family of a Sanskrit scholar. His birthday on the auspicious day of Sita Navami is celebrated as Bandhu Navami. He was devout and would always sing the kirtans of Krishna and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He stressed the importance of God as means of remembering and drawing close to the divine. He urged the followers to follow the life of avoiding temptation. Sita Navami
Sita (; ) also called as Janaki and Vaidehi is a Hindu goddess and the female protagonist of the Hindu epic, ''Ramayana''. She is the consort of Rama, the avatar of the god Vishnu, and is regarded as a form of Vishnu's consort, Lakshmi. She is also the chief goddess of Rama-centric Hindu traditions. Sita is known for her dedication, self-sacrifice, courage, and purity. She is one of the seventeen national heroes (r''astriya bibhuti'') of Nepal. Described as the daughter of Bhūmi (the earth), Sita is brought up as the adopted daughter of King Janaka of Videha. Asiatic Society Of Bangladesh
The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh was established as the Asiatic Society of East Pakistan in Dhaka in 1952 by a number of Muslim leaders, and renamed in 1972. Ahmed Hasan Dani, a noted Muslim historian and archaeologist of Pakistan played an important role in founding this society. He was assisted by Muhammad Shahidullah, a Bengali linguist. Mahanambrata Brahmachari
Dr. Mahanambrata Brahmachari (25 December 1904 – 18 October 1999; pre-ashramite name Bankim Dasgupta) was a Hindu monk who headed the Mahanam Sampraday in present-day Bangladesh. A yogi and monk of Mahauddharan order, a school of Bengal, he was a philosopher, writer and religious master. Early life He was born in a Baidya family of Barishal and was named Bankim Dasgupta. He began his schooling in a nearby Pathshala primary school in 1909. At that time his father lost his eyesight. Mahanambrata therefore dedicated himself to his blind father's service, reading him aloud Hindu scriptures. He gave up English school education, being instead inspired by the clarion call of Chittaranjan Das who called English education a 'Slave making machine'.
