Pozzilli is an Italian ''comune'' (municipality) of the Province of Isernia, in the region Molise, located about west of Campobasso and about southwest of Isernia. Geography Pozzilli is located on a valley below the Mainarde mountain range, next to the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. It is crossed by the river Rava and is few km far from the town of Venafro. The industrial area extends into eastern plain and is part of the "Isernia-Venafro Industrial Consortium". Filignano is an Italian ''comune'' (municipality) of the Province of Isernia, in the region Molise. History The village was first mentioned in 962 and elevated to autonomous municipality in 1840, when it was separated from Pozzilli. Geography Filignano is located west of Campobasso, southwest of Isernia, north of Venafro, and east of Cassino. It is a hill town surrounded by the Mainarde mountain range, in the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. Acquafondata (Campanian: , la, Aquafundata) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Frosinone in the Italian region Lazio, located in the Monti della Meta area, about southeast of Rome and about east of Frosinone. History During World War II, Acquafondata was occupied by the Germans, who guarded the Gustav Line on the Cassino side and the Reinhard Line on the Molise side. The liberation of Acquafondata took place on 12 January 1944 by the French Expeditionary Corps who broke through on the Venafro side. Two survivors, Romano Neri and Domenico Mancone, were awarded knighthoods by the Presidency of the Republic for their role in the liberation.
